Overnight stay in Colca Valley - there are limited hotels here but this hotel was fine. We were a little tired after an early start so we decided to eat in rather than go into the town. Service was a little haphazard at the bar and the food distinctly average.
Staff were pretty good and room was fine. Overall not a bad stay!
The staff was super friendly and helpful. Especially the front desk staff. The rooms were clean and cozy. We had a space heater and warm blankets for those cold nights high up in the mountains of Colca. It honestly was the best hotel breakfast ive had while i stayed in the Arequipa area. The breakfast had a big variety I would recommend it to anyone. I would definitely stay here again if i ever visit Colca and would recommend it to anyone.
Gracias a todos desde los Estados Unidos

Everything absolutely great. Really nice hotel and friendly efficient staff.
The only minor annoyance what that on checkin I asked that my credit card was charged in local currency or US$. No stupid dynamic conversion with 4% markup which seems to happen often in Peru. I was charged in GBP resulting in around £6 extra expense. Checkin staff assured me I had been charged in $. The receipt and card statement say otherwise.

Disappointing
I am somewhat disappointed with this hotel. It is probably one of the best in Chivay, so despite my rating it is still a good bet if you're staying here. Firstly, the staff are great. Really friendly and welcoming. I'd give them a 10/10 for sure. Also good is that they have medical attention 24/7 and oxygen on hand. First 10 minutes complimentary. But, the hotel is cold. Everywhere.
The rooms have heaters, which take a little while to kick in but also kept me awake at night because when they restart from losing the set temperature it makes all kinds of noises. The bathroom doesn't get heated so good luck if you need the loo in the night!!! The restaurant is also cold, as is the bar. We asked them to put a fire on, which they did but even so it was not cosy.
The first night we were there, we got no sleep at all because there was an outdoor concert/party/festival that started at 10pm and finished at 5am. It sounded as if we were right next to the party as it was that loud and I am not exaggerating. This was a Friday night and it was a 200 year anniversary of the town, so I don't know if I they have parties every weekend or if we were just unlucky in that regard (but also lucky in that we got to see the marches the next day in costume).
My safe didn't work in the room. I called for them to fix it and about 2 minutes after they left, it stopped working again so I gave up on that.
Breakfast is a joke. It's really, really bad and not good enough for the price paid.
Superb hotel, great location. Staff very friendly, breakfast starts at 0500 which is great for the tour to Colca. La Calera hot springs are a short taxi ride away or a free shuttle is close by. Within a short walk there are some nice restaurants.
Great hotel with a few weird quirks. The rooms were comfortable and nice enough for one night and the staff was friendly, but easily confused. They couldn’t figure out what day I arrived in the country because I arrived late on the 17th but by the time I got through immigration it was after midnight the next day, so I wrote 17th as the day I arrived but my passport stamp said 18th and I don’t know why they needed the info but they were fixated on it, they even called by room at 10 pm to ask again, it got very annoying. The on-site parking is 3 spaces, the 3rd blocks the other 2, so I had to go move my car once to let others out, and you have to notify them every time you want to leave or return so they can open the gate. Not convenient at all but the property itself is pretty and good enough for a one night stay.
me gustó mucho el personal lo atento que fue con nosotros, la limpieza estaba mas o menos, me tocó una habitación que tenía una mancha amarilla en la sábana justo al pliegue del cubrecamas y la almohada.
