I loved everything about this place ! The room the giraffe house it’s so gorgeous ! Sean the man who takes care of and manages the property is so knowledgeable. He gave my boyfriend and I a tour around the whole property with his goats and when I tell you this man knows the property HE KNOWS THE PROPERTY & history of the area. The experience wouldn’t have been the same with out him.
A truly one of a kind extraordinary place to stay we had a wonderful time
Please make sure you read the directions closely the Hotel will send detailed ones prior to your arrival which you need to follow.
This Inn was amazing. We booked the Giraffe room for the weekend, and it was a great escape. Our room was super clean, a large jacuzzi tub, and very private. There was also a sauna room, gourmet kitchen, pantry with another stove, refrigerator, dish washer, fully stock with plates, and utensils. Additionally, there is a coffee bar and mini fridge stocked with bottled water. There is also a large common area with several leather sofa, and plenty of games. Another great feature is there is a bar area with a wine fridge. Shawn was amazing, he was very attentive and accommodating, he was right out front to greet us on arrival and gave a tour of the Inn. The decor was very nostalgic with decor from the original Catskill Game Farm. It was a great stay and looking forward to returning again.
Cathy and Jackie are excellent. Cute neck in the woods surrounded by nature. The hotel we originally booked canceled on us last minute. They didn’t even call us neither did Expedia. I happened to call for an early check in and was then informed on the day off.
Expedia helped me finding a new hotel and thank you so much long neck inn for accommodating all our requests.
Expedia completely cheated me for this listing charging me nearly double the rate. Then lied about having a supervisor contact me. No hot tub but The Hotel experience however was absolutely amazing! Located near many places to eat and drink the room was comfortable clean and had a great view of the former zoo. Such a unique experience that I will definitely book directly with the owner going forward. We’ll be back!

This hotel was the most unique place we’ve ever stayed. It was a marvel in many ways, and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience with only a few minor flaws: rain shower didn’t work, the grounds where the hot tub is located could be landscaped to provide a beautiful and serene resting spot and there could be more of a staff presence to report
This unique hotel was fun to stay in and we had a great time there with our pup.

Great girls trip
I enjoyed my stay here . It's been on my list for over a year of places to visit . I rented the elephant room fir the sole purpose of having a soaking tub and I was not disappointed. My towels where amazing and the room was clean . The furniture and fixture are appealing to the eye but when you actually go to use them it's apparent it is not graded for hotel/inn use . The walls are thin ! Bring earplugs or your going to have a great understanding of your neighbors sexual preferences.... unless that's your thing .My girlfriend rented the menagerie room and it was small in comparison to mine but still a great space . I love the communal kitchen idea and we spent time snacking down there however , the cleanliness was on the less desirable side . I would recommend removing cast iron from the rotation there as many people have no idea how to clean it so 1/2 the pans available to cook where rusted .
Communication was tough . I called about two months ago to try and coordinate a larger rental opportunity for my husbands birthday , to rent out a few rooms and camp sites and no one responded . Tentr was no help when I emailed as well .
Exploring the grounds was awesome ! It took us 1 1/2 hr to walk the property with stops and that was so much fun . It's not an all day thing so make sure you have other things in mind to do . We would up going to Olana .
Apparently july is off season in the Catskills and three breweries and two restaurants we had on the list to try were close.
Was a great stay enjoyed exploring the old zoo grounds. The hosts were welcoming and made sure you had everything you needed.
We loved the family of goats roaming the grounds.

Disliked: Cleanliness
Neat hotel concept
Love the concept of this hotel. Really neat to see the abandoned zoo. Would love to see better communication and signage at the hotel about the area and grounds (maybe a map you can grab or signs up throughout). Also, so many ticks which I told the hotel about. Better grounds maintenance could help solve the issue.
Used to visit as a child, and had happy memories of the Catskill Game Farm, so when I saw it was now an Inn we booked a few nights, and it did NOT DISAPPOINT! The grounds are incredible, the overgrown remnants of the zoo are incredibly cool. The room (we were in the Elephant room) was cozy and the staff was friendly and helpful. They were incredibly knowledgeable about the park, and also about recommendations for nearby restaurants and shopping. We were also greeted by friendly cows and goats when we arrived. A city girls dream. The place is also super dog friendly and our dog had the time of her life.
Quite a unique place to stay. The hotel is clean and quiet. The staff is friendly and helpful. Very easy self checkin process. If you are looking for a place to get away from the hustle and bustle, this hotel is for you. They even provide trickle charging to Tesla owners. We enjoyed our stay here.
A nice break from the norm. Accommodations are definitely unique and very well appointed. The historic significance of the entire property is very interesting. Easy self-check process, great communication from the the staff. The grounds are fascinating so be sure to allow plenty of daylight time to explore them. This was definitely a case of experiencing much more than was expected in a positive way. Highly recommend this for a hiatus from the average escape.
I’ve traveled to the Catskills on and off for the better part of the last 10 years. This dwelling captures so much of what I love: serenity, quiet, and nice bedding. They really have to step up the WiFi access - it’s impossible and stressful to get anything done if you’re not just going there to be off the grid. Also, they MUST put extra protection on the screen windows: spiders, as expected in the mountains, are everywhere - but it doesn’t mean you have to sleep with them.
The place was great. We loved all of the memorabilia and can't wait to come back in spring and walk around outside. The room was comfortable and well furnished. Cathy was more than accommodating with all of my questions. We enjoyed it and recommend it.
