Luxury Catania at via Monte Vergine 18 Catania was a very liveable self contained apartment with two living areas, well organized kitchen and bathroom (including Washing Machine), huge bedroom with extremely comfortable Queen/King sized double bed. The apartment was a very easy 10 min walk to/from the CBD and wonderful Farmers market, plus regular market open 6 days pw. Also walking distance Metro and connections to regional byses and trains.

The flat has a shared kitchen, so you can cook. A market is close by where you can buy all food including vegetables and fruits. The location is great for restaurants, transportation. So I would recommend.

room very nice, but no window. good location, and really a B&B in an apartment , and owner contacted us to meet him, but was not there at the time, but sorted out in 20 minutes. Breakfast a bit light and prepackaged.

I enjoyed my stay. It was a perfect room with a balcony overlooking a small square with restaurants. It was pretty lively till early morning, but was not really disturbed in the room. The owner told me about the fish restaurant downstairs, so i tried it. I got the fish and chips. Very different from the British version as it was nit battered. But, it was some of the best fish and chips I've ever had. Really appreciate talking to the owner. Very enjoyable stay.

To begin with, Alfio offered to pick me up at the airport (for a fee) which made life less stressful getting to the place...........it's very close to the airport bus stop anyway. It's close to the centre & meeting points for tours going to Etna or other towns as well as most bars & restaurants being within 10-15min walk. The area looks a bit run down but that's just surface; it's lively til late! The apartment itself has good sized rooms, your own showerroom (bring your own toiletries) & the kitchenette is kept stocked up with breakfast items & coffee! The bedroom doors don't have something to lock from the inside other than the key which is a bit awkward......

Host came right into my room and woke me up. Did not knock or anything. Just locked himself in. Could not speak english at all. Demanded I left the room because the cleaning lady was there. THIS WAS BEFORE CHECKOUT TIME! Stood in my room yelling something in italian for 10 minutes before he left. Not recommended…

At very short notice (due to a last-minute cancelled flight) the hotel staff were tremendously helpful and proactively gave us all the info and directions we needed to get there from the airport, also preparing the room for us quickly. They also speedily responded to any queries and requirements we had. I couldn’t fault them. The location is very central, next to a lively dining / bar area of the town which offers a lot of choice and a short walk to the main attractions in the old town. The room was very clean though could do with a couple of snags ironing out (such as the shower bracket needing fixing). Facilities could be described as a little basic but comfortable, quiet and great value for money, especially in terms of location. The staff also helped make a rather stressful situation of very last minute hotel booking a little easier. Grazie Mille!

The owner helpful but reliant on Google translate. Parking is not free and was 12 Euros overnight while the room was 100 Euros incl. local taxes. The coffee machine was broken and an improvised fix had been applied but it leaked badly. Breakfast was self-service and okay but lots of packaging and economical. The room was clean but we booked a Queen bed x 2 and got a double bed and a double camp bed with a screen. There is a fabulous market that pops up early morning but you cannot exit the car park easily as a result and the streets immediately outside the unmarked building smell of fish. I can’t rate this property above 2 stars despite the owner’s best efforts to be helpful. 1 night is enough.

There was nothing luxurious about “Luxury Catania”. The pictures shown on the Expedia site for this property do not match. It is definitely not the same place! I was looking for a place to stay that had an elevator and free breakfast. The Expedia site said this property was on 1 floor and had an elevator. What we got was a place that had no elevator, we had to climb 2 very narrow staircases…too narrow to take our suitcases to the 2nd floor where the beds and bathroom were. We had to leave our large suitcases on the first floor as it was too dangerous to carry them up the stairs. I was also looking for a place that could accommodate 3 adult seniors. The Expedia site showed 2 queen beds side by side and a modern bathroom. What we got was a queen bed in one bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room. The bathroom was old and very narrow. Only one person at a time could fit. The Expedia site also stated a breakfast buffet from 6 to 10 daily. What we got was a tray of packaged dry toast, some packaged croissants, little cakes, and juice boxes in a warm refrigerator. The reviews stated that the Luxury Catania was a quiet place. Well it was not. There is a football club next door and we heard men screaming and yelling during a football game. Not to mention the neighbors and the neighborhood cats…both nights. I called the Expedia customer service and spoke with a supervisor Aieda. She tried to help me find a new place but unfortunately most places were sold out.

Die Lage der Unterkunft war top. Die Ausstattung könnte mal ausgetauscht werden, dass Frühstück war absolut unterirdisch. Der Transport vom Flughafen zur Unterkunft war super, der Fahrer sprach zwar kein Englisch, aber wir konnten uns auch so mit Hand und Fuß unterhalten. Beim Rücktransport wurden wir versetzt und mussten ein Taxi nehmen.

Leider wirklich miserable

-Entgegen geltendem EU Recht möchten Sie den Pass /Reisepass mit einem Privat Handy fotografieren.Das Foto wird dann via Whattsapp weitergesendet. -Gemäss EU-DSGVO ist es verboten Daten zu erfassen ausser den durch das Meldegesetz vorgeschrieben.Ein Foto eines Reisepasses ist somit unzulässig. Da hier das Bild der Person erfasst wird und Die signatur, Prinzipiel ist immer eine Zustimmung nötig. Das italienische Meldegesetz fordert kein Foto. Dem Reisepass ist der Name ,das Geburtsdatum und die Passnummer zu entnehmen. -bei der Ankunft stand ich vor verschlossener Tür ,der Inhaber hatte die Ankunft vergessen -die lage des hotels ist sehr zentral .aber durch 2 bars darunter sehr laut -Zimmer sind ohne öffnungsfähige Fenster -das Frühstück ist selbstbedienung und wurde kaum von jemanden genutzt -es gibt während des aufenthaltes keine Zimmerreinigung, -es gibt kein wc papier ,duschgel seifen. -handtücher werden nicht gewechselt. -die Bettkissen waren vom Vorgänger beschmutzt ,die bettlaken waren sehr sauber -der fussboden war sauber und gewischt. -das badezimmer komplett ungereinigt - war 4 tage dort niemand hat müll gelehrt -das schloss des zimmer ist ein klippschloss einfach für unbefugte zu öffnen. -der inhaber oder bevollmächte verlangte eine whatsappfähige telefonnummer -die eingangstür klemmte bei einem anderen gast so das er nachts nur mit hilfe einen mieters ins haus gelangen konnte. -positiv ist der preis doppelzimmer 38 Euro angebot.
