We stayed in one of the balcony rooms and the room was legit the best room we have stayed in the UK. The bed was a dream, super duper huge and the view from the balcony was magnificent. Their breakfast spread was delicious, the only downside of the stay were the cocktails from the Vale bar, I think they could do better with that. Apart from that, it was a 5/5.

Booked the vale and ended up at the Hensel Castle which I thought was an upgrade as the room size and standard was incredible. However all the facilities including spa, bar and restaurant were back at the Vale so they put on a mini bus. It’s not the end of the world but would have preferred more facilities locally. Ate in the restaurant and I wasn’t blown away by the choice. Everything with chips pretty much. Steaks were expensive and no option fo a pie or curry for example.

Clean large room, friendly staff, excellent pool facilities. The pool & jacuzzi & sauna & steam room are lovely and can be used by hotel guests, not just spa guests. The pool is a lovely warm temperature. I had a spa treatment & thoroughly enjoyed it. The posh restaurant is the breakfast restaurant & very overpriced, especially for meat. The cheaper restaurant is just outside it, it’s a sports bar with TVs everywhere. Breakfast was sensationally good, great selection, food superbly well cooked & supply maintained. Both crispy streaky bacon & pink back bacon available. Definitely a highlight for us.

This was a trip to Wales for the EPRC finals in Cardiff, picked this hotel as it was close to Cardiff, rail connections were good into the city which was recommended

The staff were all friendly and helpful. We had nail clippings on the carpet next to the bed and also in the bathroom next to the sink. We also had a wet towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door which had to be from the previous guest which led us to believe the room wasn’t as clean as it should be

Always a lovely experience

I travel to Llantrisant regularly for work and staying at The Vale is always a highly pleasant experience. The food is good, the rooms are reasonable and the gym facilities a huge bonus.
