Very happy with our stay

Very quick and easy booking. Communication was good. No reception but simple instructions via text/email with entry codes for main door and each room had key safe. Was clean and tidy. Good shower. Mattresses weren’t very comfortable, old style and frame was noisy. It said parking available but you had to book a space ( 2 available) and this wasn’t conveyed before booking. Very good price for last minute booking so we were overall very happy with our stay

2 night stay in in old style boarding house

The keypad system is a good idea, unfortunately it took numerous attempts to access the property & then the room & there was no one on site to help. Once in I found the room comfortable & clean although some of the decor (carpet, wash basin etc) has seen better days. Plenty of bars, cafes, pubs in the area & just a 5 minute walk to the beach. Overall a good value for money stay in an old style boarding house type building

A total scam

The hotel changed our booked room to a single bed room, but we booked a two bed room. When we arrived they lied and said we booked a single bed, and the booking clearly states two beds. Then they were supposed to send a reimbursement and never did. When we called their office about it, they lied saying, "We've been calling, but no answer". We literally have no missed calls from them or anyone else.

It was a lovely room bed was uncomfortable and when you let water go from the sink it bubbled up in the shower which i thought was weird but over all a pleasant stay

Excellent location

The experience is Upper Rock was not particularly good and wouldn’t stay in that basement room again. All I am going to say is Ella was brilliant and offered us a new room at the Saltwater. This hotel is a new renovated hotel and has concierge service. The room we stayed in was on the ground floor, it was bright and clean. I would stay there again this hotel is priced well and is in the middle of Kemptown, near the seafront and a short walk from the city centre.

Great stay!

We stayed here for the Brighton marathon, it was perfectly located with many restaurants just around the corner in walking distance. The check-in process was easy (lockbox and code) and our room on the top floor was clean and comfortable, exactly as advertised. Kettle with teabags and coffee was much appreciated. It is located on a road with a main bus route, but our room on the top floor was quiet enough with the windows closed. Would definitely stay again!

The first thing i noticed was the lock box that had my key in it was still showingbthe code to unlock it, literallt ajyone coukd have tried and would have been able to get in, the bed was very uncomfortable, shower was like having someone drip water on you and it wasnt adjustable.

Nice place, good Kemptown location

Nice 5 night stay, 2nd stay in less than a month. Spacious room at front with nice, big windows and a good little desk at the window. New decor, new mattress. Not sure about the bed as it was just 6 inches from floor. Really good shower. Electricity went off all night 3 nights in a row. Overall a nice place and I have already made another booking next month.

It depends...

We stayed one night in room 7. Paid for parking, but someone who stayed day before didn't remove his car. So it was necessary for me to visit reception and to check what's going on. E.g. reception doesn't check the car park at 11 AM. Also gates to the car park are broken. Room is OK, but a bed needs to be fixed. Wooden planks are not fixed to the bedframe (!), so you need to make sure that they are spread properly under the mattress yourself otherwise it will be quite uncomfortable... Also there is no a/c (you get what you paid for) and during summer you'll be enjoying all of the street noise when you open a window.

Easy check-in through their pre-arrival check-in procedure. The bed was good. The drain of the shower cubicle wasn’t great and water sometimes traveled outside of the cubicle. It was not a major issue for me. The price was very reasonable indeed.

Could be a pretty good place to stay in Brighton

Quite spacious room, close to sea and Kemp Town restaurants etc. Big windows looking onto tree lined street. Useful little desk at window. But the big windows make the room very hot. Traffic noise is awful - buses, lorries, emergency vehicles all night. Nothing hotel can do - but be prepared. The cleaning staff were worse - their door banging was relentless for hours and hours. Bed was very soft, mattress needs replaced. Room needs at least a decent fan and more lighting. Fix most of these things and it will be a good place to stay. In fact, I'm staying again in August, so let's see how it is then.

The bed was the best bit

The bed was the best bit about the room, disappointed as we had towels with stains on and the floor was dirty in areas. The shower kept flooding when in use, the shower head also kept falling down. I messaged the owners about the shower not draining and they said they'd take care of it, yet nothing happened. As long as you plan not spending much time in the room it is okay for sleeping.
