Good place to just lay head and caught some ZZZZ's
It appears that they are updating the property with new flooring in the hallway & our bathroom.
The room was clean, smoke detector was missing in our room, our reservation was for Queen size bed there was 2 full size beds. Breakfast: banana, box of donuts, cereal we choose to go across the street to Mc Dee for breakfast.
Loved the room with 3 beds (and a bonus pullout in the couch we hadn't expected!) - were just there for a quick stopover on a road trip, but it was great for our needs
Struggled with choice for a night in Kansas while doing R66 so this was the only option on the road . Well situated for R66.
Would I return -no .
No tea/coffee facility . Did get ice though .
Room was just about ok - clean and bed comfy . Struggled to turn on shower as tap was loose . Curtains hanging off the track .
Best bit was pizza and a beer in Bricks and Brews a few minutes drive away . Great live music night .
Staff was friendly and attentive. Room was large.
1) I have never used such thin towels
2) Some of the fixtures were not great - the faucet handle came off in my hand, bureau was missing a drawer tront, sheets were stained
3) i chose this hotel because it offered breakfast. I had a choice of corn flakes, a banana or coffee.
Reception at front desk was very welcoming. Despite the general run down look of the town, the hotel property displayed a positive upkeep. With this in mind, the stay was good value for money
The room and hallway were very musty stunk quite a lot. Room and bed were dirty, old furniture, bathroom had the ceiling cover off, ceiling tiles were extremely water stained and sink/mirror were bad as well. Would NOT recommend staying there.

Rooms were clean and very quiet. We felt the lobby could have been kept cleaner. Overall a good experience.

Good for the price.
Room was a but rougher than the photo appeared.
We had dogs with us, so was giving a smoker/pet friendly room.
Clean, but definitely had a smokers smell.
Very quiet area.
So this is a Mom and Pop Hotel, but since Route 66 in Kansas is only a short drive, we really don't know how long it has existed. It is clean and comfy, but it is a young couple with a young family running the place, which may be a little much to handle. They were trying to host a small breakfast bar from 6 to 9, but at 6:45 no one had set it up so we went across the street and grabbed coffee at McDonald's and went on our way. There is good news, though, we tend to look for truckers staying at a place to know what is safe and clean and plenty of truckers stayed there.

Baxter inn was a good “just for the night” hotel idk if i would stay here for longer. It had a strange smell. Almost like this place has been kept in a bottle type of smell.
The sheets did have some stains on them.
The shower was nice! I enjoyed the shower. Parking was easy and it was easy to find. The staff was very friendly
Couldn’t hear through the plexiglass-glass window or understand the man. The lady came out and was great. Hall to room needs repaired. Door key worked fine but door swollen. Hard to open. Room was cool. Air was turned on which was good. Stains on wall, crumbs on floor, hair on pillowcase and bathroom floor. Dirty spot on bedspread and pillow case. Called and they brought new pillows and pillow cases. The telephone that you have to use to call front desk was disgusting. the toilet belongs in a preschool. VERY low to the ground. Hard for the elderly or anyone with knee trouble. NOTHING FOR BREAKFAST AT ALL. Not even coffee or water. I could see the cereal containers with cereal spilled out inside the office with bananas that were too ripe. These were never brought out. There was no one at front desk at 7:30 AM to help. There was a fridge and microwave in the room so bring whatever you want to eat. I did not see any vending machines at all. You have to call them from a phone in the front lobby. This was the only motel in Baxter springs other than a bed and bath type which was much more expensive. We were there for a civil war reenactment.
Repairs need to be made. Shower head was loose from the wall and you couldn't adjust the temperature of the water. Warped hallway floor making walking treacherous.
Smoke alarm removed from the room.
No breakfast, not even coffee. A continental breakfast was listed online.
Staff was very helpful when I asked for an extra towel.

Wasn't expecting much for the price. However, when you say you have a continental breakfast available on your site, offer one. At least have coffee. Also advertised free wi-fi which was correct for the first hour. After that you had to pay.
Again, wasn't expecting a lot for the price but at least provide what you say you are going provide.
Seemed like a real shady operation.
