owners/managers lovely people, our room nice and comfy, king size bed perfect, nice sitting area. would recommend. Stayed one night at Christmas, so very quiet.
The Monte Carlo was a good overnight stop on the way Vancouver. The room was clean and cool, it was 38 degrees Celsius when we arrived but the room was prepared with air conditioning and cool. The only thing that was not great was the soft bed. That is just a personal preference, though. Overall it was good.
The location was easy to find and the place met our needs - overnight stop on our way from Edmonton to Vancouver. It was nice to have fridge to refrigerate the groceries I was bringing. We did not use any of the outdoor facilities- pool or barbecue and picnic tables. Although all the tools were there, I do not think the last person cleaned the grill so one side was dirty. The room was clean and okay - nothing upscale but I wasn’t expecting upscale. The only down side for me (not my husband) is I am a light sleeper and occasionally woke up to the sounds of trucks on the highway. There was a restaurant right beside the hotel which we did not try but it got good reviews. I had already packed a dinner but if I had known about the restaurant, I would have eaten (or did pick up as we have a dog) there.
I left a list for the office manager for things to address. Although the room was clean, certain things needed to be addressed. I had to kill and spider and an ant upon initial arrival (before my wife saw them!). The ceiling and exhaust fan in the bathroom were covered in spider webs and lint. The leg on the table was broken/loose and thankfully didn't create an accident for us. The TV stand took up a big portion of the room and hanging the TV would eliminate that problem. The mini fridge freezer was completely frozen over. There were no lights turned on outside of the room, so we needed to keep the headlights on the discover the room number and unload our luggage. There was a piece of flooring in the middle of the room that popped up and should be addressed before someone not wearing shoes would injury themselfOn a positive note, the motel was right next to and across the street from two good restaurants. Nothing fancy, but the food and service were good and fast. The beds and pillows were adequate for what we needed as a halfway point between Whistler and Jasper.
