Great little spot right in the middle of it all. Not too close to the slopes but very convenient to the grocery store and restaurants. The friendliest staff; love Bowinkels!

Hotel wasn’t at all as described. My wife and I had to leave early because of a family emergency with our handicapped daughter and they wouldn’t refund the night we didn’t stay. I will never come back to this place again.

Nice, quaint place near the ski slope. Could have suggested places to rent skis. We left a day early due to unfavorable ski conditions. We could not find the desk person to ask about a refund. Otherwise, we had a comfortable, enjoyable stay.

In the rate they indicate that breakfast is included, it is not like that, they do not provide breakfast, they hide behind the COVID, but they could give basic individual breakfasts as other hotels in the area do.

Cannot recommend this property more highly. The rooms are large and room, with a window seat! Staff was lovely, view was wonderful. We had deer grazing and romping outside our window. Can't wait to visit again.

Steve was fantastic. There was also about a dozen deer on the back lawn grazing and enjoying themselves, which really enhanced the mountain atmosphere.

Nice view, rustic appeal but a bit dated. Cushions for chairs very worn. Bed mattress worn out. Kept very clean inside, outside needed upkeep. Flower beds etc overgrown. Very few customers there, probably due to being a ski shalet and it was off season. The thin staff wore multi hats and did it well. Steve was amazing with making sure everything was done. Restaurant food was 4 star from seating, to view, food and food prep. Nice wine list and 4 star wait staff.

Mountain hotel

High up in the Mountain away from the Village, not as stated. Beautiful setting with great views, Deer are coming to your indow, The Hotel needs some updating

The Alpen in was a very quaint and old English style cottage. Very cute and comfortable. We loved staying here and the desk manager was extremely helpful. Just a short ride from sugar mountain and beech mountain. The room came with two chairs, a microwave, two beds, two sinks, and there was even a heater in the bathroom. The only downside is there was no washer or dryer in the hotel.

Property has some signs of age but pretty well maintained. Everything was in good working order. Would have been nice to have an overhead light in the room for additional needed light. A small continental breakfast served by staff also would have been nice since the usual buffet breakfast was stopped due to COVID. Overall, a good experience and would stay here again!

Rustic charm, clean rooms, and good location

We enjoyed our stay very much. The Inn had a cozy, rustic look and feel while also providing a very clean and comfortable environment. All of the staff members with whom we interacted were welcoming and friendly. The only negative things we found were that when we booked, it listed free wi-fi and free breakfast as amenities; but we did not see an option for either of those things. That said, we would stay here again, because neither of those items were deal breakers for us.
