"The owners are great. The property is not. The place is cold for winter, the thermostat is locked, but if you call the owners they will adjust it up some. The place has a smell. It is like a wet dog or mold. The bed is hard, the pillows are flat, and the sheets are thin. It is a multi- stay unit home, if you book a room, there may be another 4 (or more) guests staying there with you sharing the common room. For winter, all the potted plant were brought inside. A bit more communication from the owners as to where they are or where to go for check-in would be appreciated. They are right next door for the record. The owners made a simple bread, fruit, and coffee breakfast with local jam and honey. It was nice and they are good conversationalists. I wish I could rate it higher, but the smell was a big negative for me. "

"Fantastic experience in a great place, and restaurant. I want to highlight that, in particular, my wife (who is celiac) enjoyed her time considering the special care and the way that she was protected by the place’s owner through a special menu prepare to her. Casa Rural Vilaboa, thank you very much. For sure we will return."

"A hotel set in beautiful surroundings. The staff were very friendly and welcoming to us and the dog. The room was a good size and had a balcony with a hammock and lake view. The breakfast was good, with freshly cooked eggs. The food in the evening was a bit limited; only one choice of a main meal but there were numerous bar snacks and sharing platters. Not really a problem though, as there was a restaurant 5 minutes walk down the road. In all a very enjoyable stay"

"Beautiful secluded house in the mountains. Stunning pool surrounded by flowers and the forested hills. The house is chic in a vintage modernist style, something that the kind owners are clearly proud of and happy to share with guests. It was a good space for our party of 6 and happy times spent exploring the Parc de Geres with lakes and waterfalls. Air con worked very well when needed, the kitchen is well equipped and several spaces to sit for dining and around the house. The theme of a 'Zen" space is very appropriate; we all felt calm and peaceful in this lovely spot, and dropped down to the small town often ( especially to visit the extraordinary Hotel Universal like something from a 1950s film!)Just a note for any guests with mobility issues - the glorious pool is accessed by a steepish slope up the rear garden.A very happy vacation spent here. "Lovely comfortable stay. Although the weather was not great, we were warm and comfortable in a lovely T2 house with modern, tasteful interior. Communication from host was excellent. Our dog loved it too. Highly recommended. "
