"Perla del Sole is a small, friendly B&B, though with a hotel-style reception, in the resort of Arenella, 8km from Syracuse. The hotel manager (who spoke excellent English) greeted us warmly and provided plenty of helpful information, such as maps, local restaurants, transport information, etc. The rooms were comfortable with all the essentials, including air conditioning (definitely needed at night, as it stays hot after sundown in Sicily) and free wi-fi, and were well cleaned daily. "Couldn’t recommend this place highly enough our stay was perfect, the pool is so tranquil, clean and the ideal temperature. The staff are all lovely, food was also delicious both breakfast and dinner. We had the most wonderful stay. Only negative is it’s a little bit out of the town but as long as you have a car you’ll be fine. "

"Everything at san Carlo was perfect- couldn’t’ have asked for a more pleasant stay and we’ve been to many short term stays in about 40 countries. Breakfast was full and varied to suit all tastes and absolutely tasty. The suites are large and inviting. No linens were fresh and the bed extremely comfortable. Want to linger there is a cafe next to the entrance but not a sound penetratked the suite. All in all marvellous."
