Fun areas around it, close to the metro, clean, cool views from out the window. A fan in the room would have been helpful and some barrier around the shower so the entire bathroom didn't get completely soaked with each use. People complained about the steep stairs, but we saw them as a fun challenge.
This hotel was not very clean. Room had mold on the ceiling. The shower didn’t drain and it over flowed onto the bathroom floor. Hotel was one of the cheaper ones in Amsterdam, but I would still consider very poor quality for the price. As it was still over $300 a night. The staff was very lovely and helpful.
Overall, I recommend this hotel. Like many others, I picked this hotel based on reviews so I want to provide one. It’s located in a safe and relatively quiet area of Amsterdam very close to the Heineken brewery and Rijktmuseum. It’s about a 35-40 minute walk from the train station so we took an Uber since it was raining when we arrived. I liked the location because Amsterdam is a small city and we could easily walk or tram to places. The staff is very friendly and helped us with our luggage (see why below) and allowed us to leave our bags after checkout as we went out for brunch and to the Rijkt.
I gave this hotel 4/5 stars in a few areas. First, while my kids and I found this charming you should know the stairs to the levels with rooms are very steep and there’s no elevator. We had a small suitcase which they brought up for us but if you’re traveling with large and heavy suitcases this could be a problem. Also, our room was small They tend to be smaller in Europe and that’s fine but we were 3 so if we had large suitcases it would have been tight. Finally the room was clean and had fresh linens and towels but I gave a 4/5 for cleanliness given its age and overall condition
So I do recommend this hotel but you should know about the stairs and room size.
Near everything. A good value. Like a lot of Dutch properties, be prepared for narrow stairs!

Liked: Cleanliness
Gets the job done if just looking for a place to sleep, but even then, the stairs are ridiculously steep and this hotel may have the thinnest walls of any hotel I've stayed in
Not a hotel we would recommend. The room Was located in the basement, a pretty dark and humid room With only one Window which Was Right out to the pavement, so you couldnt actually open it unless you wanted to see People’s feet walking by and it also felt a bit unsafe, people standing drinking and stuff Right outside where you slept.
A lot of nosse during the Night from both hotel guests and people outside. Not the cleanest place and the staff seemed to be very little interested in service to the guests. I dont understand why this hotel has three stars.
Mijn kamer was niet beschikbaar vanwege waterschade, het hotel had proactief een kamer voor me geboekt in een ander hotel en me daar keurig over gebeld. Goede service!
