The down sides are both the fact that in order to go to Ella you must take a tuktuk. The owner taking advantage of the hotel isolation from the city and chrges unusually expensive rate for breakfast, whuch we were not informed in advance. 2 family breakfast cost as much as a night's stay in the hotel."

"Booked on advance. When we got there, they had given away our rooms x3 to other guests and couldn’t accommodate us. Took our money and still no refund. Shocking. We were left at 9pm at night scrambling to book room for 6 guests. "

"A unique experience. Staying in a treehouse was very high on the novelty scale. Expect a slight slope in the floor, and don't forget to close the windows before you go to bed as the monkeys are sneaky and will steal any fruit that you leave on the dining table. A fun night. The owners were the loveliest couple I’ve ever met, they gave us tea and cookies when we arrived and made us the most delicious Sri Lankan breakfast during our stay. They were so kind and thoughtful. Be aware that the location on maps isn’t actually where the hostel is - walk up police station road, turn right just after the left turn to the railway and carry on at this right turn until you eventually get to silver dome.
