Great location in the middle of old town, clean and very quiet despite the central location. Very friendly staff. Only minus is parking fee a bit high due needing to use parking hall by shopping mall.
Disaster.
The hotel was closed, under construction. They even did not pick up their phone.
Paid for taxi and waited behind their closed doors for over an hour. Frustrated, took another taxi to go to another hotel.
Was advised by property 4 hrs before arrival that due to un-forseen circumstances there would be no bar / restaurant / breakfast facilities available. Though we were offered apologies and the option of a free cancellation we decided to go ahead with the booking. Self check-in was simple, hotel and room were spotless, and bed was very comfortable. Though right in the heart of the bars and restaurants we experienced no noise from outside (park facing room 3). Air Con was OK but did struggle a bit with the exceptionally high 35C temperatures. The owners continued to offer support throughout our stay ,especially when dealing with Hotels.com which at times proved frustrating for both of us. The owners willingness to come to a fair compromise over the lack of facilities was much appreciated and generous.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, room comfort
Great location, me and my wife really enjoyed the great location close to everything.
Very helpful and efficient Franca and nice and cheerful owner, the only thing it wasn’t great it was the breakfast but in the last day it was better, otherwise I’ll recommend it for anyone for sure.
The Regal Residence is a wonderful property. It is on a main pedestrian road with tons of eating establishments. Even though it was on a lively road, once inside you couldn’t hear any noise. The rooms are well appointed and the whole place is charmingly decorated with a travel theme. The hostess left perfect directions on how to get to the hotel and into our rooms. In the morning there was a generous buffet breakfast. The only downside was we couldn’t get the air conditioner to cool off the room. All in all, we would stay there again and will highly recommend Regal Residence to anyone staying in Zagreb.

Disliked: Amenities
It's definetly not a 4 star hotel, more like a 3. The good: location, perfect and in close proximity to all tourist attractions! Very big rooms for european standards. Very quiet, soundproof building!
The bad: the breakfast should not even be mentioned. It was basically, cold pieces of bread, cold meats and a bowl of whole fruits and stale cereal. It was disappointing to say the least so we are outside everyday after seeing what they offered. So plan on eating out if you're staying there. I only saw the front desk person once (when we checked in) and never saw her again during the 3 nights there. They did provide an iron upon request so that was good. I would not stay here again however. Clean and location is all the best stuff about it!
Perfect location, in the heart of the old town, very close to the main square. Lots of restaurants, cafes and bars on the pedestrianised street on which the accommodation is located.
Large, comfortable room with good amenities. Breakfast - limited choice, but good quality eggs and croissants, whole fresh fruit, proper coffee.
Just don't expect a "front desk" - you get your key and you're on your own, though Lana is on call and was helpful over the phone. And if you come by car, you will have to park that elsewhere - though there are parking garages nearby.
Great apartment in the Main Street with bars/restaurants- 2 mins from main square. Great breakfast. Slight issue checking in as no front desk but owner/receptionist spotted us at door from the bar area and sorted us out.
Great location - just in the middle of the best pedestrian zone of the city. Restaurants, bars, cafes and money changes are just a step away.
The facility is beautifully decorated.
Breakfast is served in the coffee\wine house which is a part of the building so you do not need to go outside.
Powerful Wi-Fi in the room. Back facing rooms are facing the park side wall (no view to the park).
It is really the kind of place to come back to.
Lana at the reception is a joy. Always smiling, eager to help, organized our trip to Plitvice lakes for us, no hassles, super efficient.
Excellent service, excellent breakfast, highly recommend this hotel. Close to all the sights, choice of restaurants and bars on the street. No cars, all pedestrian which is a plus.
It was an excellent stay and would recommend to our friends and family. breakfast was excellent also.
Visitors however should be aware that there is no elevator in the building.
