Converted villa with family atmosphere

I have stayed here half a dozen times over the past couple of years. I always come back because the Excel Palace is so friendly. The property is a converted villa on the fringe of Golden Valley, and the staff are so welcoming it is rather like a second home. There is no restaurant on the premises, but the same people own the Chinese restaurant next door, where breakfast is served free to hotel guests. On my latest trip the hotel manager arranged a car and driver to take me to Bago for the day. The fare was 50,000 kyat (about US$50), which compared well to other prices I had seen on the internet. The driver was good, and accompanied me into the main Bago sites. Although the hotel is really a guesthouse, the friendly service is what makes it so special.

Nice and small hotel in the middle of the city.

This hotel is small but very clean and kind. Transportations are convenient because it is located in the middle of the city. Actually I made a mistake revise the reservation this time , 30 Mar to 22 Apr, instead of actual staying 22 Apr to 20 May this travel, but they provided same price to me as reservation traveler with a warm welcome.

Bon rapport qualité/prix

Chambre assez grande avec une vrai chaise et une vraie table pour travailler, de la place pour poser le sac de voyage, un mini-bar pratique pour mettre des choses au frais, du snack offert par l'hôtel (ça dépanne), un kit complet dans la salle de bains (brosse à dent, shampooing, savonnettes, savon liquide, bonnet de douche, etc.) sèche-cheveux, bouilloire, sachets de thé, sucre et sachets de café, annuaire, prises multistandard. Un gag : il y a un téléphone juste au-dessus de la cuvette des WC !? La salle de bains n'est pas toute jeune, mais tout fonctionne à peu près. La clim fonctionne correctement, avec télécommande. Wifi correct (un peu fluctuant). Pas trop de bruit dans l'hôtel, mais proximité de certaines chambres avec le restaurant voisin. Ménage et propreté : pourraient mieux faire... rideaux et menuiseries des fenêtres très poussiéreux, le reste OK. Bonne literie (pas trop dure) avec 2 oreillers et 2 coussins, une couette trop chaude sauf à mettre la clim à fond. Une pièce en bas permet de recevoir des collègues (table basse). Pour le petit déjeuner (compris), il faut prendre un bon à la réception, sortir sur le grand boulevard (New University Avenue) et aller dans le restaurant du même propriétaire (6:30 - 10:00). Omelette, saucisses, oeufs brouillés, avec thé et fruits (pas de jus de fruit). Pas vraiment de petit-déjeuner continental.

下町の繁華街にあり、便利でした。 古いけれど、総チークダンス材で出来ていて、趣きのあるホテルでした。贅沢な空間ですよ。 スタッフもとっても親切でした。

インヤー湖に近いホテル

到着した夜に予約が入っていないと言われました。遅い時間だったのと（２３：３０分）部屋に空きがあったのでとりあえず泊まりました。翌日午前中に再度調べてもらい大丈夫でしたが予約管理に関してはずさんでした。ホテルの従業員の対応は丁寧でした。

Nice Hotel in the center.

Very good hotel, well placed and with a helpul and pprofessional Staff. I definitely recommend this hotel. Their Breakfast is amazing, as you have it in the restaurant where you can have Dim Sum. 20 minutes from the Airport, when their is no traffic jam (of course)

The decor is old and tired, but it is clean as much as it can be considering its age. Our room smelt of smoke so ask for a non-smoking room if possible. You collect a ticket at reception for breakfast at the restaurant on the street behind the hotel.
