This was the best B&B by far I have ever stayed in. The room was spotless and a very comfy bed.
The full Cumbrian breakfast was delicious and plenty of it, There was also a good alternative menu aswell.
But if you decide to have an evening meal you are in for a real treat. Darryl is a trained Chef and the meals he serves are amazing.
The 3 course meal was al a carte status, excellent made by chef/ owner. Lovely bedrooms and v clean and owners very welcoming. Lovely views and walks nearby. For children the wildlife park is worth a visit nearby.
Our stay was perfect. The room was big enough for our family of four, bed were very comfortable and the room was very clean and tidy. What’s an added bonus is the best breakfast you will ever have! Award winning marmalades, served with HOMEMADE bread and all of the ingredients of the cooked breakfast’s are local and high quality. I highly recommend having the French toast or the Cumbrian breakfast, my son would highly recommend the kids French breakfast which is chocolate dipping bowl and fresh croissants. The owners are amazing! Highly knowledgeable of the area (definitely listen to their advice as they know all the best places) and they are very friendly and welcoming of families.
Couldn’t be happier
A gem of a place. Breakfast was delicious and food cooked to order. Added bonus is the owner is a chef. You have the opportunity to a delicious evening meal cooked without the need to drive somewhere.
We had a lovely stay at Woodlands Country House. The room was very clean and comfortable. It was a great base to explore the wonderful Lake District and surrounds. Daryl and Naomi are great hosts. Daryl's food is amazing. We shall miss his great breakfasts. We were very sad to leave Woodlands. Would definitely stay there again.
Great location for a Lake District visit. It was the perfect family friendly hotel. The owners are friendly and knowledgeable about the local area and gave us some recommendations of where to eat locally. The area is tranquil and perfect for a relaxing break and only a short drive to the hustle and bustle of Lake Windermere and other locations. We will definitely be returning.

Excellent clean, warm and comfortable room. The host were very helpful and accommodating nothing was too much trouble. The food was freshly prepared and excellent would totally recommend it to family and friends
Very comfortable stay with great food. We booked a very short notice stay at Woodlands Country House, and very much enjoyed the experience. Received a very warm welcome on arrival and found the family running the house to be extremely hospitable and pleasant to be around. Rooms had been recently refurbished and were very comfortable and clean. The real gem about this place is the food. Everything was freshly made and the dishes were structured around taste, fantastic, and would easily trump any of the other restaurants I have eaten in, in the Lake District area. The house also had a very comfortable lounge area with a bar stocked with local and high quality wines, sprits and beer, all at a very reasonable price. The room was advertised as an annex, but you are fully undercover from the room to the house, so no getting wet going for dinner. I would certainly stay here again and book in dinner.
Nestled within the breathtaking landscapes of the Lake District, Woodlands Country House is a true haven for those seeking an escape into tranquility. From the moment we arrived, the enchanting beauty that surrounded this idyllic country retreat left us captivated, setting the stage for an unforgettable stay.

The rooms at Woodlands Country House are a masterpiece of classic charm and modern comfort, seamlessly blending timeless aesthetics with contemporary amenities. Each space felt like a sanctuary with a view that could easily transport you into a postcard-perfect scene of the Lake District's rolling hills and pristine lakes.
After an incredible restful night's sleep, we woke to the owner/chef delivering a breakfast truly beyond our wildest expectations. Darryl's mastery in the kitchen was evident in every detail. The whole stay was amazing. 5 enthusiastic stars on all counts!
Fantastic stay over the Easter break. Darryl and Naomi are perfect hosts and extremely accommodating. We were all made to feel truly at home. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, very stylish and themed around local history which was a lovely touch. Both the breakfast and dinner offering were all locally sourced and tasted amazing. We enjoyed our break so much that we booked to return in the summer before leaving. Our daughter is counting down the weeks already!
