10/10 hotel. Would highly recommend to anyone. It’s so incredibly beautiful with such lush tropical vegetation throughout the whole hotel. The rooms are huge, beautifully presented with everything you need. The service is amazing, with such friendly and helpful staff at every corner of the hotel. Nothing is too much for anyone here! We came on our honeymoon and are leaving feeling like we want to revisit soon! The pools are really lovely also, and the beach (although rocky) is really nice. A very memorable special stay at this hotel!
Gorgeous property, the view from the restaurant is stunning, the grounds were spotless and the staff incredible. Small beach and not the beach swimming.
Wonderful place with spacious rooms and plenty of swimming pools. Shame can't visit the beach whilst we were there. But the spa make up for it. Mega and her colleague are both wonderful therapists. Breakfast french toast is th best I've had.
Very calm and peaceful. The people who work there are very nice and friendly. They gave us an extra upgrade, so we had our own villa with pool. We love this place with the wonderful garden and animals.
What a view! The moon pool is stunning! The Forrest school for the kids is perfect as they learn a lot vs traditional kids club. The breakfast is up to Relais and Chateaux standards with a view over the Ocean. We also experimented the SPA and the quality of the treatment was excellent. I would come back and highly recommend it for couples or family with kids.
The hotel is very impressive, from the moment you check in you are well looked after, the staff are polite, attentive and always on hand to help you. Our Villa was beautiful and spacious. Breakfast was good but not great - the Sri Lankan options were far better than the Western options, but the food is plentiful & you can order multiple dishes. The hotel is pure luxury, however after staying in other hotels and travelling around Sri Lanka for the two weeks prior, this just felt a little lacking in authenticity which was surprising especially as it is not an international chain. Perhaps it was just a quiet time and we only stayed 2 nights so didn’t get to fully immerse. The location was too far for us from the local town, it’s quite remote which for some is probably ideal but if you are looking to explore you will have to get a tuktuk or taxi around - and beware the hotel bump the rate up hugely if you book through them (airport transfer quoted $270 vs $60 when booked through a local guide). Overall a good stay, made better by exceptional service, but for the price I wanted it to feel a little more special!

Beautiful location surrounded by stunning nature, with amazing rooms and a breakfast of a very high standard.
However, the grounds and overall maintenance do not reflect the level expected from a Relais & Châteaux or Michelin Key property. There were dry leaves and weeds throughout the territory, and several trees appeared infested or dying. For such a large estate, there should clearly be more gardeners and stronger attention to maintenance and cleanliness.
The lunch and dinner offerings were also disappointing considering the prices charged. At this level, the quality should match the cost. In particular, dishes prepared with raw tuna were served with the fish appearing brown rather than bright red or pink. As a cook myself, I know this indicates oxidation and a lack of freshness.
I was also surprised that the concierge sent me an unsolicited bill via WhatsApp the night before checkout while I was still relaxing and my departure was only the following morning. At high-end properties, the guest experience is usually handled in a far more seamless and discreet manner.
I have stayed at several Relais & Châteaux hotels before, and unfortunately this was among the weakest experiences in terms of service and guest handling. I would recommend taking inspiration from the Constance hotel group, particularly Prince Maurice, which understands luxury hospitality and guest relations at a much higher standard.
This resort is next level, from friendliness of staff, quality and options in dining choices, we were privileged to be upgraded to a pool villa that was simply huge and stunning and on our last day were given a late checkout that exceeded expectations.
Our only disappointment is that we have to leave however we will definitely be back. Thank you Shan and team for such an enjoyable stay.
Stay here! We stayed down the road s few days before moving to this resort after being very disappointed with the main beach at Weligama. We were so happy we relocated to this absolutely wonderful resort. It is worth every cent. The rooms are gorgeous, the food amazing, gorgeous location. 100% recommend staying at Cape Weligama.
We had the most unforgettable stay at Cape Weligama while celebrating our anniversary. From the moment we arrived, the warmth and hospitality stood out — and to our surprise, we were upgraded to a stunning luxury villa room with the breathtaking beach view & pool. 🌊🌴
Every detail felt thoughtful — from the anniversary cake to the little celebratory touches that made us feel truly special. The staff made us feel less like guests and more like part of their story.
It’s rare to find a place that balances luxury with genuine care. This one does it beautifully.
Can’t wait to return — with a few more reasons to celebrate! 💙
We really enjoyed our stay at Cape Weligama Hotel. We received a warm welcome on arrival and were taken by buggy to our amazing room overlooking the garden. It was spacious and so was the bathroom.
A short walk to the dining room for dinner and breakfast and we enjoyed being able to sit outside on the terrace for both.
My husband went on a nature walk with a ranger around the property and was shown different plants and birds which he really enjoyed.
In summary, we really enjoyed our stay here and can really recommend it.

From the moment you step into cape welligama to the moment you leave, you are being looked after by the staff with such immense care and attention to detail. The responsiveness and personalisation is excellent, and a level of service I have not encountered in any hotel before.
The resort is well set up for young families, and our room had easy access to what felt like a very private swimming pool. The swimming pools are set to have great views, and we had monkeys and peacocks come to say hello.
The food was delicious and dinner menu changed every night. The chef came to ask for feedback regularly and even made a custom dish on request.
The rooms feel large and open, yet are warm and cosy, with great modern facilities. The property benefits from being fairly new, versus other more grand yet tired hotels we stayed in our trip in Srilanka.
Overall a beautifully maintained, scenic hotel with great facilities for children and an amazing service.
Very attentive staff, stunning location with wonderful facilities. The views from all parts of the hotel were breathtaking. If you like surfing, there’s an excellent left hand reef just minutes from the hotel. Would highly recommend, it was the highlight of the trip.
