Excellent stay, unfortunate spa facilities

Great stay at the Blue Water Hotel. The view is incredible, overseeing the beach and beautiful hotel layout. The rooms are very nice too but could do with a little bit of updating minor details. The pool is HUGE with plenty of privacy. There is a beach that the hotel overlooks too which you can access. The only downside was that the whole steam room, sauna and jacuzzi was down for maintaince so couldn’t enjoy the spa facilities. The massage prices are also way too high for the country.

Allt toppen ! Rent och snyggt och ett extra tack till dom trevliga pool killarna som mer eller mindre sprang ut med handdukarna och servicen av alla vid poolen var galet bra ! Maten i resturangen var med världsklass 🥳🇸🇪✅ Jag fick till och med lära mig laga srilanka mat i en liten matlagningskurs som är gratis Morgonen vart ett pass i gymmet efter vart det yoga i den tjusiga trädgården. Rekommenderar detta Hotell från botten av mitt hjärta ♥️

Our 3rd time at The Blue Water and it never disappoints. Kushuni and Chamal deserve special mentions as they go above and beyond the service expected. We will be back as soon as we can. Thanks to The Blue Water Hotel again for making our visit to Sri Lanka an absolute pleasure .

Nice hotel but suites amenities missing

We opted for the Executive Suite, which was offered with some special services (special restaurant, lounge for drinks and happy hour), etc., that were not operating due to Covid. It’s a nice, comfortable hotel with professional, kind staff, but I would advice booking the basic rooms until they get things sorted.

Große Zimmer mit Balkon oder Terasse, bequeme Matratzen, großer Poolbereich mit kostenfreien Liegen, Auflagen, Schirmen und Handtüchern, sehr freundliches Personal, Hotel ist insgesamt in einem gepflegtem guten Zustand. Nicht gefallen hat mir: Das Hotel hat ein "Krähenproblem", sehr viele von diesen Vögeln im Garten verunreinigen Liegen und Sitzgelegenheiten, trinken am Pool, hinterlassen Federn und Ausscheidungen am Pool und der Geräuschpegel ist auch nicht zu unterschätzen. Nicht gefallen hat mir: Der Strand und das Meer sind nicht zu empfehlen. Sehr hohe Brandung mit Strömung (hängt evt. im September noch mit dem Monsun zusammen?), der Strand wird zwar von Treibgut befreit, weist aber an einigen Stellen dunkle Verfärbungen auf (Verschmutzung?) und vom Wasser her kommt ein muffiger Geruch. Leider hat Sri Lanka kein funktionierendes Abwassersystem und so landet alles in Flüssen und im Meer! Wer ohne Strand und Meer leben kann ist in diesem Hotel aber bestens aufgehoben.

It was ok. There was a big convention with hundreds of people. So it was a zoo when I was there. Huge long line for dinner buffet. Not ideal.

Luxe hotel!

De accommodatie was erg goed, ontbijt ook! Alleen als je een taxi nodig hebt, kun je dit beter zelf regelen. De travel agent die ertussen zitten vraagt het dubbele. Zodat een deel naar de agent gaat, een deel naar hotel en een deel naar de chauffeur. Dit hebben we in andere hotels niet meegemaakt! Waarschijnlijk omdat dit een luxer hotel was en de prijzen daarom ook hoger. Ik gun liever een groter deel aan de het taxibedrijf/ chauffeur. Overigens voelt het ook een beetje ongemakkelijk doordat alles gedetecteerd wordt. Jezelf, taxi’s en tuktuk.

Perfect for relaxation.Fantastic food at reasonable prices. Wine a bit on the high side.We stayed in a club suite which had extras like free cocktails, butler service and use of the excutive lounge for teas ,coffees and fresh juice and soft drinks. Hotel was immaculate in all ways.

Stay away if you want to relax

Beware!! Don’t stay at this hotel if you want to relax and sit by the pool. This hotel has less than 100 sunloungers to accommodate over 250 guests. If you don’t get up early, or pay the pool attendant to reserve your sun lounger, you will receive a tatty bit of foam and a towel to sit on the floor until something becomes available. The pool is dirty and green unlike the crystal blue waters as shown. The rooms are dirty with lights falling out the ceiling and cockroaches on the floor. The club lounge access is a joke which is leftover food from breakfast

Dejligt hotel med fantastisk personale

Vi boede i en Club Suite og havde all inklusive. Vi var bestemt tilfredse med hotellet og følte os meget velkomne. Personalet gør meget for gæsterne og virker oprigtigt interesserede i, at vi får et godt ophold. Buffeten indeholder meget lokal mad, hvilket for os er et plus. De tilbød endda at lave mere vestlig mad til børnene. Poolen er stor og ren, stranden er bred og selvom bølgerne er relativt store, kunne vi sagtens bade med børnene.

We stayed at this hotel over Christmas and New Year 2018. My review is based on the expectations you might have for a 5 star hotel. The good: - very friendly staff. Very helpful - great location near the beach - breakfast and dinner are very good - a wonderful new year celebration - life music during dinner The bad: - bad starting point for excursions (long trips) - email conversation with the hotel did not work. Even phone calls were not answered - some sun beds are old and not working - matrices are old, damaged. Towels are dirty - worn furniture in the room - they have not been able to refill soap and shower dispenser within 2 days - our safe was not working for 3 days Some minor bad things: - our room was not ready in time - not all employees speak English - Club lounge access: only tea and cafe. Juices have to be ordered and will be served within 20 min (for free, but a member of the staff has to go to the restaurant to get them) Summary: According to European standards this is a 3-4 star hotel. If this is your expectation, you will have a great time. Value for money, however, needs to be discussed.

Smukt hotel på stranden - skræntende service

Virkelig smukt hotel som absolut er 5 stjerner værdigt. Vi havde bestilt en club suite som til fulde levede op til forventningerne. Derimod var serviceniveauet langt fra hvad man kan forvente af et 5 stjernet hotel. Sammenlignet med andre lande i østen er Sri Lanka meget langt bagud i forhold til begrebet service - og at personalet havde svært ved at tale engelsk gjorde ikke niveauet bedre.
