The view of the lake was amazing. We didnt see the mountains due to clouds but there are beautiful walks close by. The staff were super. Exceeded expectations.

My friend and I had a lot of fun in this town! The Rigi Panorama Trail access is right around the corner from the hotel. The front desk staff was super helpful with any questions we had!! Such a cute hotel and great breakfast included with your stay!

Wonderful hotel with beautiful clean rooms. The town was very safe & quiet. I would recommend renting a car if you want to get around easy. Limited dining options during the week off season. Good food but only two or three close by.

I had an excellent stay at Hotel Terrasse am See. The breakfast was great and convenient, with a beautiful waterfront view from the restaurant. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and the room was clean. I would definitely go back and recommend this hotel!

The Hotel Am See sits on Lake Luzerne with lovely views of the lake and surrounding mountains. The historical ambiance of the hotel only adds to the charm of the local village of Vitznau. We would stay again in heartbeat.

This elegant traditional hotel sits at waters edge with a curved windowed dining area used for breakfast. The view is stunning! I only regret that the weather was cool and rainy and I did not have the occasion to sit out in the Hotel's outside areas. Excellent service and a simply wonderful breakfast--and very reasonably priced. I don't know if I'll be back in Switzerland, but if I am, this is where I am coming. I just loved this hotel and its world-class views!

The area and environment around the hotel is absolutely stunning and we really enjoyed exploring Vitznau. The hotel was clean and where it is situated was really amazing. However, the hotel itself felt like you were alone the entire time with no service. Breakfast options were poor. The room had a construction site that began working loudly at 6am in the morning and the bed was very uncomfortable. For the price, we were hoping for a more comfortable room. The staff also took our feedback kindly. We were also very grateful for the free car park!

The room did not have air conditioning and was located next to the ferry and train station but if the windows were closed, the noise was not too loud. View was very nice. Breakfast was good. Ate dinner across the street, good meal.

The rooms are super basic more o like before Christ time.The furnitures and gadgets in the rooms are so old. The only thing positive about this place was the location and the fact that is based on the lake.

Pros: Views and friendly staff Cons: The hotel was built in 1873 and I think our bed and mattress were original to that date! Hard beds, very loud and squeaky floors, bathroom was not great, just one pillow (and a barely there pillow at that). I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it to others unless everything else in town was booked.

An incredibly charming, and a well maintained historic hotel. Staff was really nice, and the breakfast (with that view) was something I looked forward to everyday. Also its location is ideal; it's right next to the Riggi train, the ferry stop and the bus stop. How perfect is that?! Got the most stunning pictures right from my room's shared balcony, morning, evening and even nighttime! Easy access to pretty much all tourist hotspots all around Lake Lucerne and other places. The few things I would recommend: 1. Fix the floor creaking (BUT NOT CHANGE THEM, because they're beautiful). They creak so loud it wakes up the other person in the room 2. Room keys have these grenade looking keychains we were told represent lake bouys. Please reduce the bouy sizes on the room keys so they can fit in a pocket. 3. Maybe hire some staff for the night shift in case guests have an emergency, medical or otherwise. 4. Historic buildings can have plumbing issues. My bath drain kept getting blocked with water overflowing into the larger bathroom. 5. You have an amazing breakfast room. Why not also open it up for lunch and dinner as well? There seems to be a shortage of good restaurants in the area. Everything said, I cant wait to go back to this charming, memorable hotel again.
