About this property

Annie's cottage in Balquhidder

  • A modern, light, airy house, on a corner block in a very quiet part of Victor Harbor, yet only 5 minutes by car, or 15 minutes on foot, to restaurants and shopping precinct. Do keep in mind though that the walk will be uphill on the return. The house has far-reaching views to both the coast and the hills, and a lovely sheltered deck on which to enjoy your coffee or lunch. There is a large back yard, accessed by walking around the side of the house. If you wish to have access to all that Victor Harbor has to offer, yet want to stay in a quiet, secluded neighbourhood, then this is the place for you.
    The house is also very close (200 metres) to the Inman River walking trail with beautiful birdlife and this walk can take you right to the River Mouth and the beach.
    Access to the garage is not permitted and the washing-machine is only available to Long-stay guests (6+ days) because of water costs and environmental reasons. The cottage sleeps a maximum of 4 guests.

This "cottage" was so much more than we expected. Its a charming 3 bed room beach house with a large airy open plan area, nicely furnished and with views on 3 sides. There's even a couple of dozen DVDs. Only minor problems were a broken toilet roll holder and intermittent light switch in the main bedroom.

Spacious airy holiday house

This accommodation is excellent value for money. Very spacious and the lounge dining area has high cathedral ceiling and large windows with lovely views of the hills (note there are no views of the ocean as such, just the Bluff).

2 days prior to our arrival we received the normal confirmation of our booking and instructions for entry. We arrived to check in at normal check in time and briefly settled into the cottage before heading off to town for an evening meal. On return at 7pm we found our belongings including open suitcases outside the front door and another couple inside the house. We contacted the property manager who informed us that our booking had been cancelled some time before. (Not by us incidentally) We had to find alternative accommodation in town on a dark night. The property manager arranged a full refund for our booking. Expedia has not provided us with an apology or an explanation as to why our booking which was made 4 months previously was cancelled. We were less than impressed with this debacle.

Perfect Tranquil Retreat

Great place to get away from it all. Spaceous, light and airy. Amazing views across the country side from every window. Easy access to bike riding tracks and 10 minute walk into Victor Harbor. Enjoyed my stay.

Plenty of room and clean but the polished floor was very slippery. It receives a fair bit of road noise from the bypass. We found there was very limited extras like tea bags etc and the washing machine was locked unless you stay for 7 days

Large comfortable home

The location of this home is convenient to town and other locations nearby but in a quiet neighborhood. Kitchen is well outfitted, nice size bedrooms.
