"I booked a room for two nights during spring break for my family—4 person with two beds and a sofa in the room pictures online, at about double the hotel’s normal rate $745. We arrived around midnight on March 19 after a long day of driving and playing at Busch Gardens. You can imagine how disappointed my daughters were when they saw the “bayside view” from our window. The window looked out directly onto a wall, the curtain wouldn’t move, and the view was completely blocked—more like a storage room than a hotel room, honestly worse than a 1-star place. I went to the front desk to ask for a room change, and was told none were available. Feeling let down, we went back to our room, ready to just try to make the best of it. Then, around 1 a.m., I got a call saying there were two other rooms available. I got dressed and went with the staff member, but after seeing one suite with a “pool view,” he said it wasn’t the right one. Then the next room was a king bed only, even though I had booked for four people. Honestly, I think this hotel should consider dropping “Bayside” from its name—it’s misleading. The location is okay, about a mile from the water, but there’s no real view from the rooms. At the very least, they could offer these blocked-view rooms at a lower price for families on vacation. Instead, the combination of unavailable rooms, late calls, and poor staff handling really ruined our trip."
