It’s fine for a base to stay, and nice that it’s in a quieter part of Venice away from too much of the usual touristy noise. Don’t expect anything fancy by any means though.

Although we liked this property for the location and the convenience of being close tobthe train station, I didnt like the check in procedure. When we arived there was no one there even though they say the desk is open 9am-10pm. We tried to call and message with no luck for a few hours so we were stuck with our luggage until someone showed up. They are not clear about check in and state you much contact them at least 24 hours before arrival but make it seem like you need to do that if you are checking in outside of desk hours but apparently that is not the case. After lunch we went back and could see someone was inside as the lights we now on so we had to bag on the door until someone came which was housekerping who had to call someone to get us checked in. Other than that. The hotel is fine and the location is great and very quiet.
The owner was available by phone when we arrived. We were given a free dinner at a restaurant she was working at; which was convenient and delicious. The room was as stated. The hotel is dated, but we had no issues with the property.
The worst hotel ever
No receptionist!!! Hard to get inside
If you need anything…. You don’t need anything!
Dirty
Broken mirrors
Cold
Wet
Conditioner /heating not working.. actually nothing and nobody working!
Disgusting
Horrendous. Bed bugs!!! Broken AC, shower, shower door, running toilet, broken mirror, rising damp, damn smell, noise. Not to mention other smaller issues like stained sheets. NO ONE at check in, nor check out. No manager in between either. Only glimpsed a house cleaner once (only spoke Italian). Text with owner/manager was our only contact, and she made NO effort to come address the issues, and eventually ignored my texts. Other guests complained of no hot water and no AC also. They didnt have the owners contact info, so u shared it with them. Owner missed two appointments to meet with her, wasting my time in Venice. Ive traveled many many countries on a budget, including the poorest regions in Africa and Asia and South America. Have never experienced anything luke this. This is not a cheap hotel at $150 per night. The Hilton is only $20 more, but at 8pm after long travels, we could not walk a further 40min to another hotel!
In travel, especially on a budget, one is bound to find "quirky" accommodations. The owner/manager's best intentions to provide a pleasant experience, is most often the difference between a recommendtion and a complaint. This is a complaint.
All after terrible experiences, my family decided to appreciate for what we have as a shelter from the cold winter wind.
I am more upset with Hotel.com than property itself how it can’t validate this kind of property and fair price.
- Nobody is at the reception. I informed the arrival time and texted and called to the staff at my arrival, but she didn’t come to open the door. Tourists came out from the property, so we can come in, picked up the room key and figured out everything by ourselves.
- Dirty & shabby facility & equipment
Moldy smell in the room
Broken mirror (very sharp, very dangerous) in the bathroom, broken lights. (Texted to the staff and she said to fix, and didn’t come)
Shower doesn’t function well. Water temperature is unstable/unadjustable. Cold shower in the winter time
No courage to use some liquids in the dirty bottle in the bathroom. We rushed to the supermarket to buy shampoo and shower gel.
Luckily, we didn’t have bug problem
The hotel is in a residential area, so we felt like we got a glimpse of the real Venice. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was large and clean. We were given a room across the little courtyard, and it was actually a small apartment with a kitchen (loved it). There were restaurants and shopping close by and it was a short walk to a couple of the vapporetto stops, which made getting to the major sites very easy. The woman who cleaned our room, Consuelo, recommended a little place for breakfast and it was the best breakfast we had the entire 11 days we were in Venice. Overall it was a very pleasant stay.
Excellent location in a quiet area and close to shops, restaurants, supermarket, etc. Very happy that we were given an apartment with kitchen. Rooms are big and it has everything we needed. I highly recommend this hotel. Manola was very helpful and friendly. Check in/out was sooth and efficient.
Great Location away with the worst tourist masses but very walkable everywhere. Staff was amazingly nice and they really took their time to ensure we enjoyed our stay. very safe also!
