Just checked in heard gun shots. Is an older hotel but the staff have tried to keep clean & friendly. The shampoo & conditioner was from 2 other hotels & shampoo had been used only had 2 towels in a room that sleeps 6. Really needs updated. Staff was great.

Rooms were dirty, food left on the floor, tampon applicator left on the floor. Bathroom condition was poor. Light bulbs were burnt out & lamps didn't work.
About what we expected for the price, with one glaring issue: The quilt smelled like cat urine.
We reported this after the first night, and clearly they tried to "clean" it with febreeze, but it didn't help much. The second night we asked for a new blanket and sheets, and got a small itchy fleece that wasn't nearly warm enough.
Everything else was fine though, and everyone tried to be helpful.
Horrible experience! The furniture was broken. There were no fitted sheets on the beds. The phone disnt work and costruction was going on in a building that had cranes looming directly over our room! It was frightening and gross all bottled up in one.
Ok guys. We have been traveling around BC for the last 5 years. We have been in lots of bed and breakfast and hotels for $100ish/night. And this one was so far the worst experience ever. One of the beds has other guest hair on it, and the room condition was deplorable. The light fixtures broken, the shower drain didn't run, the wallpaper has nasty stains, same as the mattress cover because we had to change our sheets for clean ones. Pictures when booking were totally different and the reality is that past 10 pm there were parties in some of the hotel rooms, sadly in the one beside ours.
We woke up an leave.
No way to had the free breakfast.
I wish I could ask my money back. Because for that cost we have had amazing experiences, in not fancy places but very clean. That's the only thing we ask. A clean bed to sleep.
Oh and they did offer us to move into another room, but the room was way less comfortable and by then (10pm, with tired children) my option was to ask clean sheets to replace.
Helpful staff . Good breakfest . A little bit older of a building , but good staff and good cliental . mainly families . Close to highway and vancouver
Our room has a strong smell which may originate from something corrupted or mold.

The Grouse Inn is convenient, being on the NW corner of Capilano Rd and Marine Drive. North Vancouver may be a little out of the way when coming from the border, but once you are in town, it makes a lot of sense.
The office staff is efficient, but a little off putting. Not sure if it was just a bad day, but our check in was accompanied by some rather brusque treatment. The check out was equally stilted. Maybe it's just Vancouver, but I've had that same treatment at other properties in the area.
The room was clean. No off putting odours. The bedding was crisp. The bathroom and vanity were immaculately cleaned. This is an older property, but they do a fine job in keeping it maintained, aside from the parking lot, which had a sizable pot hole at the entrance.
The included continental breakfast was pretty basic, but we left the hotel to get breakfast after we awoke.
All in all, for the price, the Grouse Inn does the job. It's not fancy, but it doesn't have to be. They offer a clean place to stay. That's all they need to do.
Wife needed a room accessible access. Jad called the hotel ahead of time tp confirm and was told that there was
There was not
Woild not recommended this hotel to anybody that needs accessibility

Stayed in the Honeymoon Suite which netted us an older jacuzzi tub and a somewhat funky long room with a bit of a kitchenette. The bed was comfy and road noise wasn't an issue, but this place is really showing its age. Breakfast was a relatively basic collection of boiled eggs, toast, Eggo waffles, orange juice, coffee, and a selection of cereals.

Remember, this hotel is being torn down in a few months to make room for a new condo, so you will understand the conditions of the place. The rooms seem clean, but stink from the bathroom, there was no heat in my room, you have to ask for a spot heater, the floors creek and bend under your feet. Spend a couple extra bucks and stay somewhere else.
The Grouse Inn is a very old motel. We had an unfortunate experience as we were downstairs from a group booking of drunk, obnoxious party goers who kept the whole wing of the motel up all night. I expressed my concern to the night shift manager, and he was kind enough to switch our rooms, but it still left us wishing never to return to this inn. The walls are very thin, but the group they allowed to stay there was up all night, even after being talked to. I did like the area as it was easy to travel to and from the Sea to Sky Highway, however, I will not be returning to this establishment.
The location of the property is good. But the property itself is not. The room smelled like mold/mildew, to the point where clothing reeked of it. The type of room, which was confirmed by phone before booking the room was not available when checking in.
