Great property, very comfortable! The owner is a very kind lady. She is very helpful. Her home is beautiful. Beds are very comfortable and clean. We enjoyed our stay! Will definitely recommend this place. We will certainly come back next time.
I loved staying at this property. It is clean, safe and very close to beaches, parks the University . I recommend it and if traveling again will book it if a room is available
The pics do not do justice to the room. It is a gorgeous property. We were so happy with the large living space and the bathroom with soaker tub. Made up for the terrible weather.
The room was very nice, clean, well appointed as described. What I found challenging was I did not receive actual info on how I was to access the property, which was said to have no on site staff, until 4 hours before my check-in time which I found very nerve-wracking. Because I had only had very impersonal boilerplate responses from host in spite of my asking a specific question, I did wonder if the booking was going to turn out to be a scam. BUT it turned out to be fine.
My main problem was how to use the keypad on front door lock. Because host is familiar with that kind of keypad screen they do not realise that some never encountered one like it and do not understand how to use it. The keypad face was entirely black and smooth and it took some trial and error to learn how to use it. We did check in during the daylight after several attempts BUT when we returned after dark the black keypad proved extremely difficult to use. We failed many times, were concerned we would not succeed and did not know if any staff were on site.
Better instructions: In order to light up the blank black screen you must FIRST touch the screen anywhere and THEN touch the four numbers for the code. I kept tying to guess where the position of the first code number would be on the invisible blank black screen so code entries were always wrong. It took us 10 minutes to finally succeed. A keypad with raised physical number buttons, or a lit up face would be much better.
The room is clean, and the property is well-maintained. The room pictures matched the actual room. The check-in & check-out process was smooth, and the host provided clear instructions.
(Dear Expedia, please PAY ATTENTION to this.) However, the one thing I'm concerned about is when the host messaged me after we checked out, asking for my email address and the last 4 digits of my credit card without stating the purpose, which had never happened before. I found it very alarming and shady, and the host should have all the information they need from the platform. Please investigate this incident. The conversation history is in the app.
We stayed in the two queen bedroom for 3 nights. The room was clean and spacious, and the bathroom was huge! The neighborhood is nice, quiet, and safe-just a few minutes' walk to bus stops that take you straight downtown if you aren't driving.
Just be aware that there is no TV or mini fridge in the room, and food and drinks aren't allowed in the room. There is a shared dining area, though we didn't use it much. You might hear a bit of noise from other room, but that’s to be expected for a private room in a shared home.
Overall, it was a good experience!
Great stay super affordable. The staff was very helpful but my only complaint is the locks. We got back late and had trouble getting in because we were given the wrong code number .
Everything was as described. Very spacious and well maintained; however, the response time was pretty limited which added unnecessary stress that could have been solved with a quick message. Anyways, all is good, but work on your response time, and you’ll get 5 stars all the time.
This was a disaster. The management company responsible for the property would not respond to my texts that were sent through Expedia. I was locked out of my room for a day because the battery on the keypad lock was dead. I had to sleep on the couch in the main room. I wasn't sure if I would be able to get back in the room to retrieve my belongings. Fortunately, staff showed up to check the rooms and replaced the battery. It ruined the final two days of my trip.

Liked: Property conditions & facilities
The place was okay. Reasonable value in the context of a very expensive Vancouver hotel market.
The massive drawback is the house has no air conditioning.
This would not be an issue in fall and winter but when we were there the in room temperature was 26-30c. And no fans. We asked for fans but got a vague response they were “looking into it “
We bought our own.
Also no tv in the rooms so we bought a Roku at Walmart for $170.
These are not expensive items and should be supplied.
Anything above 26c indoors is considered dangerous. Very hard to sleep with these temperatures. Fortis/BC Hydro has rebates on heat exchangers
Otherwise good for shared accommodation in vicinity of UBC, Stanley Park etc

Liked: Cleanliness
Disliked: Staff & service
The house is really clean and big. Make sure you pay close attention to what room you’re booking because the washroom situation is pretty much all shared.
One thing is that there is absolutely no communication with the host. Their voicemail is full, they don’t reply back, wrong number, etc.
It was alright!
The room was clean but the rest of the house was a bit of a mess. The fridge had food left in it and the garbage was foul smelling. There was dust on the fixtures, hair on the bathroom walls and the TV appears to be broken.
The house had a general feeling of emptiness and being unloved. I only stayed one night of my stay and got a hotel the next morning.
