Not great

We chose this hotel over others because it seemed to be in a good location and advertised that it had an outdoor pool. However, on arrival we discovered that it doesn't have a pool - they just kept referring to a 'natural swimming area' i.e. the sea. It's also quite a run down and generally depressing place. We ended up cancelling 2 of our 3 nights and moving to another hotel first thing in the morning. I can't say much about the location as we didn't stay long enough to explore it.

Lovely staff, great food, not far from Unawatuna

Staff were absolutely amazing, very accommodating, very friendly. We were the only people staying at the hotel at the time as it was quiet season so was nice to have the place to ourselves. Staff couldn't have done more to make us feel at ease. We turned up with fish we had caught that day on a fishing trip and they were more than happy to cook them for us in that evening. Food was really good and proper Sri Lanka breakfast was delicious. Hotel is in perfect distance for the rope swing (there is a cheaper one 300 rupees pp to the South of the hotel still with the ideallic and background view). Bus to Unawatuna is easy to catch and about a 2 minute walk from hotel, otherwise Unawatuna beach is around 40 minute walk. Couple of other restaurants and hotels around. Beach outside hotel is nice but not really for sunbathing and chilling on. Bed was quite hard and uncomfortable. Room quite basic.
