Abselute dissappointment

I cancelled on arrival when I saw the poor conditions the place was in and lost my whole payment. The reception area looked like a pigs corters. We got backrooms after we paid for rooms with balconies - 3x rooms. I demand my refund from Booking dot com please

Poor condition! Fell down the stairs no signs slippery when wet, they did not even dry up the staircase in the morning after it rained. Bathroom moldy and shoddy, curtains not even hung up properly, curtains dirty. We were not even warned about load shedding when we arrived so were not prepared ahead of time. False advertising as it says breakfast patio… no such thing!!!

Wasnt great but no so bad

The DStv didn't work, WiFi didn't work. 1 room was nice, the other room had a towel rack missing, overall it was good value for money, rooms are spacious but the place is a-bit neglected. Caretaker was very willing to assist and very helpful.

The check in was great wifi was slow. Couldnt sleep too much noise and in the morning coulding get breakfast because we came down at 9.30. Werent told time breakfast ended. Location was good staff was pleasant.

We felt safe with the security gates, and the guard . We didn't like how noisey it was outside our room window and bathroom window. Shower stall was very dirty and the shower door was loose and moldy. Please add some shelves or hooks in the bathroom. There's no place to put your Toiletries. The throw at the foot of the bed was filthy, had dried food or something stuck to it. The cords for the fridge and night lights was a mangled mess. The head board was not attached to the bed,we had to use towels in-between the wall and the head board. We could hear the people in the next room and it seemed like their headboard was free standing as well. The parking situation was an absolute mess. We had no parking on one night. After asking for help from the guard we were able to park on the side of the building next to the stairs. The next night, we had the tiniest parking spots ever. Both my husband and I were unable to get out of our small car. By the way we are not obese people. The staff were not friendly to us. I hate to think it was a race issue. We have stayed at other places in Umhlanga and we were disappointed with your place.

Its a house. They rent out the rooms. Very old and terrible condition. Don't waste your money. Not worth the cost. Location is nothing to shout about either.

Pleasant accommodation friendly helpful staff. 4 Sleeper room a little small but neat and clean. Bathroom was neat but basin was blocked and staff did try to unblock and got it to flow better they also arranged for plumber to come in sort out for future guests.

Terrible Stay

Firstly We did not get the room we booked. We booked a King Size Family room over looking the Pool and we got a room on the other side. This is definitely not a 4 star hotel, it is far from it. Breakfast was terrible and the staff battle to understand what we asked for. Their was no buffet breakfast as advertise and the pool was not heated. This hotel is dated and the improvements they are trying to make wont improve anything unless the staff get proper professional training and learn to understand the English language better. The noise levels during the night and early morning by the staff are very unwelcome, people come on holiday to rest and not be disturb by loud conversations of people that are actually standing right next to each. I am utterly disappointed with this place and with Hotels.Com as the information you had on your site was note what was at the hotel, nothing corresponded. I will not recommend this place to anyone and will be extra careful if i ever booked through this site again.

Great breakfast and clean room

We stayed her after arriving in to Durban that evening. Staff were very pleasant, breakfast was great and tasty. Room was clean and comfortable. We mostly just slept so didn't get opportunity to enjoy other functions. Wifi was usable as well.

Nice family run guest house.

Great little guest house. Situated in La Lucia between Umlangha and Durban central. Around 3 mins drive to nearest beach and 12 minutes to central Durban. Staff really friendly and very helpful. Good breakfast both hot and cold provided, honesty bar and pool. Car parking within the grounds for around 8 cars. Would happily stay there again.
