Loved our stay! It exceeded our expectations. The food on offer was delicious, the afternoon teas were lovely, the staff was very friendly, the room was quite spacious and basically in the middle of the jungle with monkey visitors and all!! The ambience was relaxing and everything was more than we hoped for. Thank you to Putu, Cynthia and all!!

It’s not what you might think it’s going to be..it’s better. What sets the great accommodations apart is not just the facilities, but the people. In this regards Alam Shanti shines. Located in a nice area of Ubud (about 5 minutes walk from the monkey forest) it is both far from the crazyness and noise.. yet close enough to get to it. I’m sure there are other good hotels in Ubud….but I won’t know for sure as I found my place to return to when I go back. If you want something a little different, but wonderful, give this place a try.

Quiet and peaceful

Clean, quiet with friendly and helpful staff. Shuttle to ubud centre is a bonus but sill close enough if you want to walk. Best stay of our trip. Thank you Alam Shanti

Lovely and peaceful garden, very friendly staff. The swimming pool is on the adjacent property, great place to relax. Very nice spa is there as well. Do take a taxi to visit ARMA, a beautiful museum in a park. Another peaceful garden spot!

Calming place

This is a lovely place but no bar or restaurant. You can get beer from the mini fridge or soft drinks. They will also order food for you from a restaurant that is owned by them and serve it on your patio. Had a good time there.

Das Alam Shanti ist wunderschön gelegen und die weitläufige Anlage ist wunderschön angelegt. Besonders hat uns der sehr freundliche Service des Personals und die Möglichkeit an einem Ort der Wahl zu frühstücken. Der kostenlose Shuttle-Service ins Zentrum von Ubud rundet das Angebot ab.

Beautiful oasis

The place is lovely - a little oasis with beautiful, serene grounds and large accommodations with huge balcony and local furniture that I adored. The staff is very nice, but I think they could up their service a bit. When I asked for recommendations for things to do in advance of getting there, they emailed me that I could figure it out when I arrived (which I didn’t like) and then when I arrived and asked again, they said- your driver will know. They came late with breakfast one day and so we left on our tour late too. But still they were very nice and everything was really beautiful. The only other bad thing, which I think they should tell you about is that there is construction going on outside one side of the hotel, so that kind of broke up the serenity now and again (not going on the whole time)...from our room (Gangga), but it wasn’t too bad.

Everything was just as we remembered , gorgeous tranquil place in an ever expanding Ubud . Pool slightly cloudy but it was incredibly humid , breakfast simple but large portions and really tasty . Massage in the spa heavenly , would recommend to anyone

Beautiful Hotel with character

We stayed in Alam Shanti for 3 nights, and frankly we would have happily stayed longer. The hotel is lovely, full of character (not the typical concrete resort that could be anywhere) and very peaceful and calm. The rooms are big and charming. The staff was very nice to us at all times and the breakfast was very good too, plus they happily bring it to your room or to the pool if you feel like a change from the restaurant. It is the perfect hotel for a romantic getaway, as well as for families as it has houses with more than one room and even a private pool for some of them.

Le Alam Shanti est parfait : au calme loin de l’agitation d’Ubud tout en restant proche (20 minutes à pied).Les chambres sont spacieuses, confortables et très bien décorées. Le service au petit soin : petit dej sur notre terrasse privative, service de navette gratuit avec un chauffeur qui nous conduit et revient nous chercher à la demande dans le centre d’Ubud. Nous avons adoré notre séjour dans cet hôtel et y retournerons avec grand plaisir.

Very quiet and peaceful place to stay in Ubud if you are seeking some privacy and meditation. We stayed for a couple of days my wife and I in our honeymoon and we couldn’t get enough with this place.Very polite and friendly staff. Highly recommended!

Visited twice almost 9 years apart and it continues to uphold the amazing service and wonderful experience over the years. The city has come much closer and the entire area is more built up and bustling than it was previously but they manage to retain their charm, authenticity and attention to detail. Amazing value for money and the rooms and grounds are as good as the pictures make them out to be.

Guess one of the best in ubud

been there for the second time and for sure not the last. Feels like comming home. The staff is very kind and always solicitous to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We really love it. We stayed in room Laksmi again. It got everything you need. One of the best is the breakfast at the own terrasse.
