The horel manager Ahmed was very helpful and arranged transport to and from the airport. He was friendly and promptly addressed any questions we had.
The breakfast every morning was wonderful. The hotel is beautifully decorated and comfortable.
Amazing hotel. Don’t let the neighborhood scare you. Super friendly people. The room, food, ac, shower, everything fabulous. Ahmed was so friendly and helpful. So close to marketplace can spend hours walking. I’ve stayed in nice places around world. Excellent property.
Great place, need to walk to it from main road. Yummy free breakfast, clean, safe, laundry, pleasant staff, close to zeytunia mosque and souk and walkable to downtown.
A true tunis experience
Fantastic little hotel w wonderful staff and nice breakfast. Ahmed was amazing. Surrounding area was really rough: dirty, rundown, and not very “médina” like I’ve seen all over the Middle East and North Africa. But little hotel was great.
Well the place was quite nice, close to the medina.
Called for airport transport ahead of time, but we arrived no one was there. So that was a hassle since we arrived quite late. But all in all we had a nice stay and staff was quite friendly.
A unique experience. You are in the Medina and can walk in a straight enough line to the centre and the more famous souks. The only draw back is you are the Medina so car access is difficult so you might have to walk in and out with your baggage. We had back packs so no issue.
It os a nice place with an authentic north African interior decore in the old part of city, Medina. Cars can not reach the hotel door and you need to walk about 5 min to get a taxi. In the area tgere are not many option fir dining, specially in the evening. Only one of staff speaks English, so communication can be difficult at times if you do not speakFrenchor Arabic.
We stayed for almost a week at El Patio and it was wonderful. From the arrival lemonade to the large and tasty breakfasts, everything was top notch. Our host, Ahmed, was fantastic. Friendly, knowledgeable, and able to help us with everything. The whole team was kind and very professional. The hotel itself was small (3 rooms), traditional and very comfortable, located on one of the principal streets of the Medina. As part of our itinerary, we moved to another hotel (5*, very chic) in Carthage for the second part of our holiday and, honestly, the service (and breakfasts!) at El Patio were much better than the second, more expensive hotel. We loved El Patio and would recommend it to anyone looking for a calm guesthouse in the Medina.
nicely placed inside a safe area of the Medina. Taxis cannot go there, so you must walk to the house - exactly what we liked. The Taxidriver calls the owner and she comes to guide you to her place.... and this place is just marvellous, only three spaciuos, newly furnished rooms in traditional style in the first floor aroud a gallery, each with own modern bathroom. Good breakfast in the central hall of the house. Any help if necessary. We have been staying there for one whole week and have used our feet and public transport (tram, train, bus, taxi) to go elsewhre e.g. to Sidi Bou Said, to the beech at Mazar, Museum, Restaurants, etc.
I spent two weeks in Tunisia and this was, by far, my favorite accommodation. The guest house is beautiful- authentic and intricate decor. The staff was beyond accommodating- we got in late and they made us a lunch (as we missed the included breakfast). The food was so delicious and they made sure that whenever we sat in the atrium we had water and lemonade.
The rooms were spacious, great water pressure, and comfortable beds. Super safe- staff on call 24/7 to greet you at the door.
Great communication and recommendations for the are. Would stay again X 10000

Lovely little traditional home stay in the heart of the Medina. The decor is very tastefully done and every little corner has a lot of thought put into it, which adds to the overall experience of staying in a traditional house. The breakfast is basic but a good enough start with eggs, croissant, breads and jam, coffee or tea. Khoula is a very sweet host that made our trip very comfortable. On the night of our arrival it was raining and she waited for us with an umbrella and help at the main road and walked us through the streets to her home. Without that help we would be lost for a good amount of time in the wet streets. We also decided to book 2 seperate day trips to El jem and dougga which were set up by her and her recommended driver. The price was fair for the distance and it was very convenient booking through her as she did the coordinating with the driver Mr. Adil. Overall a pleasant stay in a traditional home. We even extended 2 extra nights to explore the Medina a bit more and try some of the recommended Tunisian restaurants for dinner every night.
Property was close to medina, and the look and feel of the property was very beautiful and unique. Staff are very friendly and warm.
We stayed 7 nights so the breakfast is more or less the same. But our stay was still very comfortable, and enjoyable.
Nice hotel, very clean and comfortable bed (that's all that matter for us anyway). Friendly staff, the hotel is located in medina. Area is not safe to walk alone late at night, which we think it is better to stay a bit outside the Medina as not is nothing happening in the Medina during the night.
For some reason they haven't changed our towels or provided us clean cups on our last 2 nights. Apart from this, it was a great place to stay.
Merci beaucoup à notre hôte qui nous as très bien accueillis. Nous avions adoré la décoration de la maison. Situé au sein même de la madina de Tunis, à 2 pas du souk. Je recommande !
