"Decor wonderful, staff excellent, gym was amazing - best gym I've been to in ages! Spa also nice, 5 different temperature saunas/hot rooms, and the massage was top notch, thoroughly enjoyable - perfect pressure all the way through. Found breakfast a bit on the formal side for my taste - i've never had a pianist play at breakfast before!!! "

"We upgraded to a superior room and were allocated one on the 6th floor initially The problem was the curtain was very difficult, almost impossible, to open and close because it was in two parts. Even the staff struggled. (And the view of the roof was hardly exciting either!). When closed it didn't keep the light out in the daytime, so we asked to be moved the next day. That was no problem and our room on the 5th floor was good - only negative point was that the room safe was at floor level so...

"The hotel is nicely located near the the train station and an easy walk to all the central spots. (Note: it is named for the river, not the cathedral - the cathedral is a 5-10min walk away). If you are arriving from the airport, take the train - it costs about £3 and is slightly quicker than the bus. Room wasn't huge but was big enough and it had a decent view over some rooftops to water and hills. It has a kettle and a mini fridge. There are tea bags in the room but more selection in reception...
