The BEST guest house i have ever stayed in
The room, guest house and garden area was incredibly clean.
The owners treated me like family and jumped straight on an issue i had with the shower - genuinely could not have had a better stay.
I will absolutely stay there with them again
Welcoming and friendly staff. Really good breakfast with added extras to what was requested. Rooms could do with an update but they are spacious and bed was comfy.
The property was basic but very comfortable and met our needs perfectly.
There was a good choice for breakfast which was freshly made each morning.
The couple who own it are very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
The location is excellent for the beach and town centre.
There was also a local convenience store a few doors up if needed.
We would definitely stay here again.
Spent 2 nights at the Norwood. Very comfy bed, The new owners are lovely and very welcoming. The homemade yogurt pot before breakfast is amazing. We wish them all the best with there new business adventure.

The owners had only taken over the place a week and we're very courteous. However the premises are very dated and tired. It requires decorating. The parking on site is awful and there are only 3 places. Does not require a high rating as regards the premis
The owners were very good.
The Norwood is a charming little sea town B&B, but what really sets it apart and makes it special is the hospitality of its, owners who make you feel incredibly welcome.
Our stay was first class from the moment we stepped into the norwood? Our room was ready early so we could check in? The people running the norwood are lovely? They give you chocolate bars in a little brown bag every morning of your stay? When you arrive they ask if you would like a coffee or tea? The breakfast is lovely, you can have a full english or just toast? They even do salmon and scrambled egg? All in all a good stay and will definitely stay there again.
We were made very welcome for our two day stay in Torquay. Veronica was an excellent host and breakfast was great. Parking is always an issue in Torquay... Difficult to find... Luckily I found a spot about 7 mins walk from the accommodation on street, safe and free.. So, we were lucky. Veronica informed us that she has an arrangement with a nearby hotel if there was a problem. We were on top floor of hotel... So lots of stairs to climb... But, thankfully we're not old and decreppit yet so not a concern.
Great location - short distance to seafront.
We had quite a few luggages on arrival and Veronica was really helpful in taking us to our room up in Rm16 (mind there’s 4 flights of stairs). Mary on the other hand assisted my husband where to park our car. We were the. offered the most refreshing apple juice which quenched our thirst from the heat, plus my little one enjoyed the chocolate bars (all to himself as he was on holiday).
Our room was at the top-most floor, with just enough space for a family (1 double bed, 1 single). Everything was spic and span. We were handed a personalised welcome note and covid guidelines the hotel is following with regards to room service. The service is very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble.
The whole process of ordering your breakfast choices for the next day is very organised, and my, the breakfasts are so delicious, filling and fruits oh so fresh. Loved the hot salmon in scrambled egg! The breakfast are done in 2 time slots for distancing but it does not make you feel hastened in eating your breakfasts. As Veronica says, “you are on holiday!” and indeed, we have felt that we are on holiday from the minute we stepped into the doors of Norwood.
Upon return to our room at the end of each day, we’d find a bag of goodies (chocolate bars) hanging on our door, which just makes you feel well-spoilt and looked after. Our little one looks forward to going back to the hotel at the end of each day just so he can get the bag of goodies on the door!
Lovely hosts, thank you so much!
Fabulous stay, thank you to Mary and Veronica you made us feel very welcome.
Super comfy beds and really clean throughout the guest house.
Breakfast cooked to order and delicious.
Lovely little extra touches of biscuits and choc :)
Thank you both, we will be back.
Best wishes the sim sisters xx
Really dog friendly - the breakfasts are freshly cooked and made to order. The breakfast runs like a well oiled machine - and tastes good!
I will be returning..
Had an amazing experience! Service provided was excellent and made us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived! Breakfast was also amazing! Would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Torquay!
Couldn't have wished for a better stay during our time in Torquay this week. The owners were very friendly and welcoming, and the room was perfect and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was fantastic with a good variety of things available and an easy ordering system. The service was incredible and made our holiday even better. Would definitely stay at this guest house again if ever we are in the area. Thank you very much for having us! Martin & Lewis :)

Very good service, excellent food.very well looked after. No problems with parking
Our room was on top floor... so too many steps to go up!!!
Had a lovely 4 night stay in a family room they made our dog feel really welcome with a treat and a sausage at breakfast. Breakfast was first class plenty of choice. Its well located with shops chip shop and other takeaways. Short stroll to the Abbey which leads to the beach. Also a rugby pitch with carpark close by for the dog to run around
We booked a stay of 4 nights at this lovely B&B over the new year...We were able to bring our dog which was a must for us...Our room was perfect with comfortable beds, nice quality toiletries and a lovely "rainfall shower", we also had a mini fridge too, which was ideal for us...The Wifi worked well too...We were given treats everyday, (biscuits/chocolate's and always a treat for our dog Bruce too), which was a lovely touch... We was even given a towel for our dog to use after we'd been for a walk one rainy evening... Breakfast was cooked perfectly to order, and there was a huge selection of cereals & fruit too...I am gluten & dairy intolerant, but this was not a problem and the owners did their best to accommodate me...When we left, it was as though we had been staying with family....Veronica, Tom & Mary run "The Norwood Guest House" like a "home from home"! There is so much competition with B&Bs in this road alone, but dont be fooled by the price, our stay was excellent value for money and we would definitely book here again, on our next visit to Torquay...It is ideally placed for the town centre shops, the beach, a park and leisure centre...Plenty of takeaways, restaurants all within walking distance...It's also located on a bus route, if walking is a challenge for you...Although the B&B is in need of a little modernisation, this is being done gradually, that said it is clean, comfortable (no doggy smells as you might expect) and I would recommend this place to everyone!
Loved the location, easy walking to beach front and shops. Loved the guest house owners, Veronica, Tom and Mary were all such lovely welcoming people, so helpful and kind.
