A great Hotel to stay at

This was a lovely stay, the room was really nice, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good, great choice and quality. The team at the hotel were very friendly and helpful and it was nice to get to know them. We will stay again next time we are in Torquay.

Super stay!

We were met by our first names and instantly offered a cup of tea and cake! This personal,friendly theme ran throughout our short stay and made it a really lovely experience. The rooms were large and beautifully furnished with everything you could want and shiny clean. Breakfast was well organised with a time slot so we could again benefit from the personal touch from our super hosts. Excellent, freshly cooked large portions😀. Would happily stay here again and recommend to friends and family.

Really lovely little hotel (12 rooms?). Beautifully and tastefully decorated. Location very convenient for Torquay but far enough away from the noise. Beautiful 19th century property. Hosts very friendly, everyone greeted at breakfast by their names - how do they remember everyone's name??! Lovely breakfast all made to order - good variety. Would definitely stay again if in Torquay. We booked through expedia but worth looking at booking direct.

This is a fantastic hotel to stay in. The owners Jane and John go above and beyond to make your station enjoyable. The decor is beautiful and very in keeping with the age of the hotel. All the bedrooms are individually designed with a great deal of style and thought. There is a pretty terrace overlooking the garden and ample parking. It is a 4 minute walk downhill to the harbour and many restaurants. Breakfast are amazing, far better than any 5 star hotel that we have stayed. Many of the guest return each year. A great find.

Wonderful and cosy.

Wonderful place, very close to the town with its restaurants etc. in walking distance. Nice parking. A Nice walk about close with a wonderful view of the riviera. Close to Kent’s caverns which the whole family found interesting. Loved John and the rest of the staff. Really want to get back to Haytor.

A really lovely warm welcome to this beautiful hotel which is set in a lovely residential street in the heart of Torquay with its great choice of restaurants. After checking in and having a chat with the owner, which felt like catching up with an old friend, I was helped with my bags to my room which was lovely and clean with everything I needed for my stay. Another warm welcome to breakfast from her husband who was very attentive to everyone seated and arriving. I was offered a fantastic choice of continental and cooked options. I opted for the full English which was delicious and I would recommend.

So where do I start!! Me and my partner stayed here for her 30th birthday for the weekend. As soon as we arrived at the property we were greeted by John and Julie a lovely couple who run the hotel. They immediately ask if we wanted a drink, as was given a lovely tea and slice of homemade lemon cake which was perfect after our long drive. They then kindly upgraded our room due to the occasion which was very generous of them. Through out our stay everything was more than perfect the morning breakfast was delicious, location was a 5 minute walk to the harbour but what made the weekend was definitely how hospitable the hosts were. I would highly recommend staying here if your looking for a home away in Torquay xx

We had a perfect stay and the hosts, John and Jane, could not have been friendlier or more helpful. John gave us a warm welcome, with the offer of a drink, and because we'd asked for a room with a bath, they had upgraded us at no extra cost. The room was lovely - very well furnished and equipped, and very clean and comfortable (lovely sheets and pillows and great mattress!). The location is ideal with a short walk into town and all its amenities. There is a bit of a hill on your return but it's not too steep or long and you can't really walk anywhere in Torquay without a hill! The gradens looked lovely too although we couldn't enjoy them too much in November! Highly recommended! We will return.
