Friendly and comfortable

Jessie was so friendly to us. We were offered hot drinks on arrival (first time ever). The hotel was clean and comfortable. We would stay again. Recommeded.

When we arrived, it was getting cold. The room was present but cold. There was no attempt to put the heating on untill a complaint was made. And there was no heat in the bathroom the next morning. I was charged an extra £20 for the room. Breakfast was average of poor quality.

A pleasant 6 rooms B&B in the old town Torquay in Devon, five minutes walk to the harbor. I was visiting my long lost cousin who kept me busy with her family, I only used the bedroom late a night to sleep, in the morning the owner prepared a typical English breakfast. This is the very pleasant place to stay visiting the Devon Shire.

Fair for the price

So we picked this bnb based on the excellent reviews and price... So we did expect possibly a little too much! Pros: very friendly welcome, late check in available, comfy bed, good quality bedding, free toiletries, free bottle of tap water, short walk to sea. Cons: small room and bathroom, cold breakfast (other guests complained about this and were argued with, in front of the rest of the guests) very weak water pressure in shower, bathroom door couldn't close, one large towel and two hand towels for 2 people. Lots of small things that could be improved and I'm sure service would be better if there was more than one person seemingly doing absolutely everything! The owner was rushed off her feet and obviously this impacted on breakfast quality and her attitude with guests.

Fabulous stay in this gem of a hotel

I choose this hotel for my parents and their best friends as they have always wanted to visit Devon and Cornwall. The decision was based on previous guest reviews. They were made extremely welcome from the minute they arrived with tea, coffee and a selection of cakes and biscuits. They felt bad for having had a run of the mill motorway service station snack prior to their arrival as they could not fully enjoy the welcoming hospitality from the owners. Both rooms were extremely clean and comfortable, and they enjoyed the breakfast each morning, which was cooked to order and plentiful. Overall, they thoroughly enjoyed their stay and they said the hotel made their break. Thank you for looking after my parents and their best friends and making their trip.
