By day it's just another narrow alleyway common in Tokyo, but at night the street turns into a mini nightlife area for the salarymen of Tokyo. With numerous tiny #bar lining up, the nickname comes from the fact in the past so many drunk salarymen doing their "bussiness" there because there's no toilet anywhere in this alleyway. Today, regulation has been set in the area so it is a lot cleaner than before. The alleyway is very narrow and can only fit at maximum 2 people at a time so be mindful of your surrounding when visiting especially when there's many drunk people walking by from the bars. The bars are also very tiny and can only fit less than 10 people at a time. If you are not claustrophobic give them a try, it's a special experience on its own :)

The triple room is extremely small. We struggled with 3 suitcases. The bathroom had mold and you had to step up half a meter to get into it. I had a fall trying to get to the shower. Not recommended for international visitors with large suitcases as there is no room for anything. The counter staff were great though.

Superb location can’t beat the price!!

It’s well known that Tokyo’s dwellings are small and tight, with that being said, the room was small but I would stay here again and will recommend this hotel to anyone I know visiting Tokyo simply because the location is superb!! Pod Select hotel is 350ft from Shinjuku-Sanchome Station, exit C7, you can’t beat that!! The lobby is super comfy, with a machine that dispenses hot or cold Green tea, Coffee, Water.

A short walk to the subway and Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden. Lots of bars and restaurants close by. The property is quite dated and there was no escalator at the front entrance. Had to carry big suitcases up the stairs.

Staffs are friendly and responsive. Room is clean with both heat/cool AC, water. Couple of cons for me are: small shower stall. Did not have much room to hang tower or clothes without getting them wet. Another con is the noise due to the surrounding bars and karaoke bars. everyday party up to 5:00 AM! If that is your desire, then go for it. Overall, I like it due to its location near Shinjuku station and cleanliness.

reasonable price for its location considering that it is Tokyo. not the middle of hot places, but you can go to Omoideyokocho by walk. Old fridge doesn't work well. Old a/c not easy to handle.
