Room was small, but this was my fifth visit to Japan so it wasn’t new to me. Good for travelers that pack minimally. Convenient location, near bus stop, train station, a short walk to Asakusa, and right behind Kappabashi street. Would stay again!
Though it is not at the busiest CBD area, it is only 7 mins walk from the nearest metro station. Connecting bus routes to Ueno are also very convenient. The area is quiet yet safe, for those who are looking for a relax and chill stay should definitely consider this.
Great place to stay in Asakusa. Close to metro stations and convenience stores. Very clean and staff was absolutely fantastic! The only downside were the beds, quite uncomfortable. But the rest was great. Definitely recommend it!
Fantastic place to stay. Out of the hussle and bussle. Staff were very helpful and kind. The walls were a little thin and the bed/pilllows were a little hard. But other wise perfect!
I loved staying at ∧ during my first trip to Japan! The surrounding area is very peaceful as it’s across from a park and nearby the crafts district/area (ceramics, kitchenware, etc). More popular places like Senso-ji are not too far away as they are about a 15min walk, and there are plenty of amazing restaurants hidden in-between. The room was overall great as it was a good size and very clean. I’m not sure if it’s normal, but the AC unit in my room would repeatedly make sounds throughout the night, but I managed to sleep through it as I was always exhausted when I came back (I also found some free earplugs at the common area). The staff were always very friendly and open to helping guests!
I booked this place as part of a discovery process in Tokyo, I had only 3 nights and I couldn't be more sad to leave, the staff there is truly amazing, very genuine and kind people, special words for Kira and Fuyuki, they take great care of everyone and interact amazingly, they should get paid double.
The common area is medium sized but cozy, not often busy, there is a kitchen with everything you need and different amenities.
The room is a bit on the smaller size but sufficient, has a good shower, toilet, mini fridge, TV and double bed, which was quite comfortable. Two windows to let some light in (although can't be opened much) and heating/cooling.
As an extra, they have great wifi which is not that common in Japan.
The only thing that comes to mind to improve is to replace the curtains with proper blackout blinds, even though it is not a ton of light coming in early it is sufficient to wake someone up if you are slightly sensitive to light.
Will come back for sure.
As long as you’re prepared for a compact space (pretty common in Tokyo tbf) then this hostel cannot be faulted, for the price it’s amazing. It’s a bit of a walk from Asakusa metro but this means a quieter area, especially at night, whilst still within 10 mins walk of the river, Senso-ji, Hoppy Dori and also Ueno walkable in the opposite direction. Would stay again, especially if on my own.
This has got to be one of the best places to stay I. North Tokyo. With JR and Gino’s lines in walking distance, amazing food options, and lots of shrines/sightseeing options.
The staff was insanely accommodating and supportive. The vibe of the hostel was very comfortable too, many nights we found ourselves relaxing in the lobby with the staff or other guests comfortably.
All core necessities are in walking distance and staff is extremely knowledgeable on the area.
Note to management: please add few more coat hooks if possible.
Thank you for a hospitable stay!

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Amenities
The staff at And Hostel were so welcoming and sweet! We loved getting recommendations from them during our stay. The hostel has its pro and cons, the rooms are very very small but it is walking distance to Kappabashi kitchen district and Sensoji Shrine, numerous restaurants, coffee shops and maintain stations. I would recommend this for a budget conscious travelers!
