We had a good pleasant stay here. The proximity to the Caroline bay was a plus. A short drive to the penguin spotting or the carnival during the last week of Dec and New year fireworks. The lodge had a good jacuzzi. Checkin and check out process was smooth. We received helpful tourist tips from the lady at the front desk.

Room was large, clean and well equipped. The staff were extremely helpful. Was slightly noisy at night with the proximity to State Highway 1 and you could occasionally hear the large trucks going by, but generally quiet.

The Bay Viaduct is my go-to when staying in Timaru. The rooms are superbly modern and up-market, the views are pretty bloody outstanding and it's located just a short stroll from numerous restaurants. Cross the road and you're at Caroline Bay and the fantastic park that's part of it.
