Quiet, clean hotel in horrible tourist town

Thank goodness we had booked into this quiet, clean property because otherwise our stay would have been horrible as Puerto Carmen is the worst type of tourist town nightmare. It was our first time on Lanzarote so we didn't know better. But if you end up somewhere in this town, the Barcarolo is a marvellous place to leave the dreadful outside behind. It is certainly a 3 star hotel but the best in that class. Staff are totally helpful and friendly, it is superclean, the nights were wonderfully peaceful and the breakfast room is delightful with good quality food. Of course like all hotel of all stars they suffer from one major issue: the silly use of coffee machines that are simply not effective in a buffet environment.

Barcarola, very ,very nice.

I would highly recommend the Barcarola. The apartments are spacious ,comfortable and thanks to the excellent ,friendly staff -are very well maintained and spotlessly clean. The pool area is really lovely, good sized and suitable for all abilities in the water ,plenty of sunbeds with parasols and again the whole pool area is very well kept and very clean. Breakfast is fine , a buffet served up in a nice spacious and bright area by really lovely staff. Location is just right, plenty of good restaurants within walking distance and about half an hours very pleasant beach front walk from the Old Town The beach is just across the road and is well worth a visit. One slight drawback is the glass recycling banks located on the street behind the "k" block ,the whole island seem to be recycling their glass bottles late at night or very early morning and it can be noisy ,a small gripe I know ....

Very good hotel

Very good hotel close to everything in Puerto del Carmen. Hotel is clean, well maintained and the staff are excellent. The one bed apartment we stayed in was spacious, comfortable and cleaned everyday. Breakfast was good every morning. Swimming pool was very clean loads of deck chairs available with a no holding rule which is great. I will be staying here again next time I visit Lanzarote. Highly recommend.

A clean and comfortable Apartment complex

Located in a central position, about a 20 min walk from the old town/harbour area of Puerto del Carmen and a similar time from Los Pocollis. Good clean apartments and grounds which are well maintained by grounds staff and maids. The breakfast buffet had a reasonable range of items and was kept well stocked.

Relaxing family time

We've stayed at the Barcarola apartments at least 5 times and they never disappoint. It's in a great location suitable for young & old: beautifully kept gardens, easy access with pushchairs (although I think all 2 bedroom apartments are on 1st floor) very helpful staff at breakfast & in reception. We've been here when our 2 boys were 3 & 5 and this year they were 14 & 16 and it's still a favourite (free wifi is great!) It's a lovely relaxing environment to be in - I'd recommend it to anyone.

Best apart-hotel in PDC.

Collectively it was our 7th time staying at the Barcarola. Location is brilliant - a 2 minute walk from the local Spar for anything you need for your apartment. About a 3 minute walk to the nearest beach. The pool is nice and big and there are plenty of loungers and parasols. The cleaning ladies do a superb job every day in making sure the place is spotless and not forgetting the maintenance guys who seem to work 24 hours a day making sure the grounds are kept up to scratch. We wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Hotel used to be great been going for 10 years last 12 months it's gone down hill massively and we've been 4 times in the last 12 months. reception staff ignorant. we had a 3 month old baby and they didn't provide kettle for bottles as promised or cot as advised. we left room at 12 as requested and flight was not while 8pm told we could have a room. they gave us the laundry room... what a great place to feed a baby. this is quite an expensive hotel which we never minded paying before as utility was a perfect place to stay. however given the state of the place and service levels we won't be going back. it seems as all other hotels have got better and cheaper this has got worse and more expensive.
