I really enjoyed the accommodations to and from the train station. I really appreciated that the most. The room was clean, and everyone was pretty helpful.
However, I don't think it's the best hotel for travelors that don't understand the culture or don't speak Japanese to some degree. I think the amenities are awesome, I just don't think it can be understood easily without more English guidance. For example, the yukata that were near the elevator. Or the rental yukatas in the hotel shop, the sign is in Japanese and looks like merchandise. I only had one major complaint, and it was that the slippers provided were the most painful, uncomfortable slippers I've worn in Japan, and as someone who packed light, I didn't bring my slippers, though I knew better.
The breakfast was amazing and the views were really nice. I also liked the welcome reception. I recommend the hotel!
Hotel was old but the facilities are still in excellent conditions. Our room was very spacious and clean. Staff are wonderful and friendly. Had a great breakfast buffet with many of local cuisine. Had a great stay.
For a small town everything about this hotel was EXCELLENT. The room was outstanding - spacious and very comfortable unlike some Tokyo hotels. Staff was very warm and helpful. They were able to accommodate everyone for breakfast in their large ballroom and food was awesome.
My tatami room with view was very clean, cozy ang comfortable. The onsen also very good, expecially the female outside onsen with a pool and waterfall scene, so relax.
Hotel provide subttle between Tendo Station.
Breakfast quite nice with almost japanese style breakfast buffet. Recommend this hotel for anyone plan to have short stay to Tendo, especially who is planning to Ginsan Onsen銀山溫泉
We stayed here for a week while visiting our daughter who lived nearby. The staff were friendly, and polite. No problem with communication even though I do not speak Japanese. I really enjoyed their breakfast buffet. The view of the mountains from the room can't be beat. I agree with one review that said the toilet in the reception is the best toilet I have been to in Japan, as crazy as that may sound. Highly recommend!
Tendo Hotel is a very good hotel. It has a comfortable hot spring and well-equipped facilities. There is a van to stay at and return to Tendo Station. An English-speaking staff is very attentive to help 12 of us. The food for breakfast and dinner is rich and delicious. I will stay here again next time I go to Tendo. Thank you😊
We loved this onsen hotel. The onsen is incredible. I wish we had stayed for more than 1 night, but our schedule was a bit tight.
However, it was a great stay. It's near enough to Yamadera, which is definitely worth a hike up the 1,000 steps, the Hiroshige hotel and much more. I would have liked to explore Tendo even more and have even more time in the onsen. Oh, and the kaiseki dinner was so delicious and in a private room where we had a view of an incredible sunset over the nearby mountains.
The service by the staff was also exceptional.
Super!!! If I am back in Japan, I'd love to come back.
It was a great stay. he hotel was older, and one can tell from the architecture and decor it was built in the 80s and haven't gone through much renovations. The hotel is clean and is a full service hotel, with a large lobby and multiple restaurants / conference rooms (although everything is sort of dated to 80s / 90s)
That did not deter the ambiance of the onsen. We had a full moon on the nights we stayed, and watching the full moon while soaking in the outdoor bath, with the waterfall and the stone pool lit, was the highlight of the trip.
I also like that they used fresh flowers everywhere, with a large fresh flower display in the lobby. It is a fresh difference from some of the ultra modern hotels with granite everywhere. It is a sort of old fashion throwback to the heydays of Japan economy in the 80s. We had a large bamboo in the lobby area when we visited to tie fortunes wishes to.
We could not find the self service laundry (but also didn't ask) The staff was friendly and very good, but a lot of the signage / directions did not have English. We had a very fluent english speaker / and english directions help us. Non-Japanese speakers do not need to worry, there are lots of help. It is a great onsen hotel.
The hotel is located about 5 minutes by hotel shuttle (or taxi) from the station. It also had classic Shogi sets from different players displayed in the lobby area, given Tend city's heritage.
Highly recommended if you are in the area.
