This was unique. Right on the beach. The sound of the surf all Day and night. The host was friendly. More like a family run B&B. Great cooking natural menu. Lots of beach time. Quite,Primitive Undeveloped area.

Excelente lugar para descansar

El servicio fue muy cálido y bueno. Uno puede sentir que descansa con el sonido de las olas, aunque es sencillo se disfruta el momento y vale la pena el viaje. Lo único incomodo fueron los perros que te velan al comer, pero creo que no es un detalle tan relevante para descartar un lugar donde la comida fue deliciosa y el momento que se vive es muy agradable.

I stayed at this lovely family-owned inn for four days, from Dec. 13-17. The owner Emilio and his wife Caroline and their children, are incredibly kind, attentive and helpful. The breakfast is plentiful and buffet style so you eat as much as you like and the Caroline cooks delicious meals for lunch and supper on demand. Located right on the beach, this is the perfect place to escape to relax. You can walk (or run at low tide) for kilometers along the beach in both directions without coming across another person. The beach on front of the is well maintained and it's a beautiful tropical spot. The inn is quite secluded (about 15 minutes from Tela city centre by taxi) and the only shops nearby are tiny local businesses with a very limited selection. The area is a Garifuna village and it is very poor. I never felt unsafe, but it's not a place where you could walk around flashing valuables. The inn was built by the family and every inch of it has a personal touch of some kind, such as an ornament or painting, etc...If you're looking for a quiet place to read, relax and breath a little, this is the perfect spot. If you visit Tela, I would highly recommend this hotel.
