A real gem

This place is a real find. It is a beautifully restored house on the site of an old farm. It has spectacular views over Tavira and beautiful gardens. The interior has been renovated to a high standard and has a designer feel with great art. It is a small bed and breakfast, and breakfast was outstanding, but the highlight was being invited to join the family for a a fantastic evening meal of local specialities. We will definitely be back.

Idyllic country escape

Charming, rustic, homely family-run farmhouse on a hill overlooking Tavira and the sea. Property has plum trees, fig trees, almond trees, olive trees, grapevines, some citrus, lots of beautiful flowering oleander, wild flowers and some fragrant wild thyme. There are 2 dogs and a donkey on-site and a little play area for children. Rosario and her daughter Ines and their staff are lovely. The property was clean and comfortable and felt tranquil and safe. Ideal for those who enjoy privacy, solitude, nature and easy access to facilities in a nearby town. The sea view room was spacious, had a jacuzzi tub and a private terrace with sun nearly all day. The property generally had sun all day. The plunge pool was a good temperature. Breakfast included some fresh and tasty items such as fresh orange juice, fig bread and goat cheese. Dinner during my stay consisted of octopus cataplana (smelled really nice) and black pork and seemed suited to those who enjoy hearty local seafood and meat dishes. It’s a 20 minute walk to Tavira town, including a 3 minute walk downhill through the farm along a narrow footpath. It’s about a 25 minute walk to the ferry to Tavira island which is well-organised with endless white sandy beaches, restaurants and a campsite. The beach was pretty but very windy in the afternoon and there was a lot of seaweed in the water. I understand it’s generally less windy in the morning. Check taxi prices to and from Tavira, they can vary significantly.

A gem in beautiful Tavira

Beautiful property run by a family that really makes you feel like a guest in their home. They bent over backwards to set up activities and reservations for us when we told them what we wanted to do. Monte do Alamo was my favorite stop in Portugal and I highly recommend it.

Very Relaxing

This is an excellent place to relax yet only a few minutes from the centre of Tavira. Our room was spacious and well-appointed, breakfast was tasty and the staff engaging. We would definitely be happy to stay here again.

Rustig gelegen quinta vlak buiten Tavira

Als je van rust houdt en lekker eten moet je naar deze quinta gaan. De familie probeert het de gasten naar de zin te maken, erg hartelijk van ontvangst tot vertrek. De quinta is een 10 jaar geleden gerestaureerde boerderij en is strak en mooi ingericht in de zitkamer. Onze suite was groot maar daarentegen wat kaal ingericht, had weinig sfeer en er is geen tv ( jammer tijdens EK voetbal in juni). Deze suite heeft een terras met zitje en een schitterend uitzicht op Tavira, de tuin en de zee. De kamer en badkamer waren schoon en netjes. De tuin van de quinta is geweldig groot en rustig met diverse zitjes en twee hangmatten. er is geen zwembad een bewuste keuze van de familie, wel is er recent een soort jacuzzi gebouwd, die was nog niet helemaal af. Het ontbijt wordt geserveerd naar individuele wensen die je de dag van te voren opgeeft, wij hebben er elke ochtend van genoten. Drie keer in de week kun je ook dineren met de familie, die dan lokale gerechten bereidt, wij hebben dit twee keer gedaan en vonden de gerechten erg smakelijk, deze avonden waren erg gezellig. Met andere worden toppertje .
