Many things wrongs. The layout sucks, broken elevator, poor directions inside the complex very easy to get lost. Not enough lights in the pool area once it gets dark…. Infestation of mosquitoes!!! Good resultant good prices, good food/breakfast, good staff. Nice pool. Bring mosquito repellent.

Bed and pillows were bad. The room is spacious but badly arrange. TV of like 29" it was imposible to even read the subtitles and sound was the wors. It was not a luxury payment but it looks like a luxury hostel not an Hotel in a Premium club.

When we got there our room key would not unlock the door. They had to come and put a battery in to get auto lock to work with our card. The hotel staff was not all that helpful. The room had poor lighting and not enough towels. Our room was never cleaned and we were never given fresh towels. We had no hot water to speak of. It was like warm more on cold side. The pool was nice but the swim up bar was never open. They do not exchange currency so make sure you have colones. The restaurant was ok and food was decent but be prepared to wait. Overall very overpriced for what you get.

The hotel is next to a mini market and POPs ice cream store. It also walking distance from playas mantas. The pool is large and nice. The restaurant is mediocre at best. Unfortunately, there are no other options for food, other than the hotel restaurant and maybe one more place. We had to drive to the main road in order to get other restaurant choices.

I loved the swimming pool and my girlfriends really enjoyed it also and the breakfast was great.The room was nice but the bathroom was very small and the hot water was not working but other than that I really liked this hotel.

The pool area was great, but you cannot access Playa Blanca, so its name is misleading, the beach is far away an you have to pay 7000 colones for parking, so this is a hotel to stay at the pool but a beach one

Wow. What a nice pool. No one was at the bar, but the nights we stayed the hotel was not busy. We did have someone come to pool area and then bring us back a beverage. Rooms very nice. We also liked the restaurant

We have stayed at Punta Leona numerous times but now they have shut off access to playa blanco as well as to the pools and restaurants. The continental breakfast for Arenas is good but used to be a lot better. It cost us $100 extra per day to have access to the beach and lunch at the club. We also had open exposed wires under our sink in the bathroom which was a little worrisome especially for electrocution hazards.

Hoye Arenas does not longer have an agreement with Punta Leona which means the only beach access is now Playa Mantas and you have to either pay the regular parking if you get any spot cause is pack during weekends or walk there from the hotel as is no longer offering transportation. Really Arenas just provides the pool and sells a closer location to the beach but no beach access at all. I’m not sure I’ll go back as least not during high season
