Excellent boutique hotel in the heart of Tamarindo

Villa Nautilus was the perfect location located just off the main street at a dead-end (quieter) in Tamarindo (5 min walk) where all the restaurants and shops are. It is even closer to the beach (3min walk) which we loved! The rooms were squeaky clean and the superb pool was just perfect after a day at the beach. You will also be able to lounge on their newly renovated deck! Laurent and his wife (and their newborn) were perfect hosts and were very friendly during our stay constantly checking in to see if we were doing ok. Their restaurant recommendations were also spot on! If you want to stay SUPER close to everything in Tamarindo while enjoying a quiet oasis, do come here! We would definitely come back here in our next CR trip.

Location cannot be beat. Close to so much good food, beach, shops, and supermarkets. Tamarindo is easy to walk around, even with kids. A block away is an area where you can get any kind of tour Tamarindo offers— catamaran, atv, horses, and more. The breakfasts were excellent. I loved the homemade jams. Our room was cute, rustic, and comfortable. Good air conditioning, thoughtful touches, nice pool. This is a great spot to stay in Tamarindo for a comfortable Costa Rican experience. We enjoyed that this b-n-b has only a few rooms, so it was quiet, yet we were not lacking in amenities and Agelie set us up with all we needed for supplies, info about the town, and arranged tours and shuttles.

Wonderful experience

What a great experience, very friendly and helpful staff. Close walk into town. Marisol was fantastic-wonderful food and room was comfortable. Owners extremely concerned with security, good for all but strict if you are a solo traveller and meet friends you care to spend time back at Villa Nautilus. Overall, would highly recommend for families and couples. If solo and make friends easily, I’d talk directly with owners first 🙏

Villa Nautilus was the perfect place for us! The location is so walkable to the beach and restaurants. There is a cool and shaded pool area to relax in midday. Breakfast was fabulous...Costa Rican, french press coffee and fresh fruit every morning more! We love smaller places and you have the opportunity to visit with other guest if you choose in the common areas, or have quiet and privacy. Also, our hosts Agelie and Laurent were both so charming and you feel very welcome in their home! Take time to visit with them if your schedule allows!

Servicio al cliente sobresaliente. Desayuno incluido excelente, de muy buen gusto y atención amable. Los dueños del establecimiento, Laurent y Angelie se encargan personalmente de la atención a los huéspedes y dan un servicio personalizado sobresaliente. Habitación espaciosa, limpia y decorada con buen gusto. Con un balcón acondicionado para disfrutar del atardecer, de la tranquilidad del sitio, en donde además sirven el desayuno de forma privada para los huéspedes de esa habitación. Local silencio, apto para relajarse y por supuesto alejarse del bullicio de Tamarindo. Pero siempre a pocos pasos de la playa y la gran variedad de oferta comercial y de restaurantes de este emblemático sitio de la costa de Guanacaste. Recomendado para parejas o familias, dado que cuentan también con habitaciones para 4 pax equipadas con cocina.

Loved it here!

A wonderful little B & B Guest House, just a short walk down to an amazing beach and all the restaurants and shops you could imagine. Owner, Agelie, was so lovely and helpful with suggestions for places to eat at and visit, and lined up our nighttime turtle tour for us. Yummy breakfasts by the pool each morning. We enjoyed the quiet there. Thank you, Laurent and Agelie!

Great location, just minutes from the beach but far enough away to have a quiet sleep. Rooms and property were as advertised and very clean. Hosts were very friendly and lots of great advice and recommendations upon arrival. Breakfast is definitely worth it. Would love to go back!

We paid for the daily breakfast and it was beyond worth it. Every morning was a different meal and always fresh and tasty. The couple that runs the villa are great people and know the good spots to hit in tamarindo.

7 day stay in Tamarindo

Vi kom sent till hotellet och personal väntade in oss för incheckning. Incheckning fungerade bra. Vårt rum låg så det passerade det gemensamma området som användes bla av ägarna och personalen. Lite blandad upplevelse, ibland trevligt men ibland lite för familjärt. Området kring frukosten och poolen är mysigt och trevligt. Personalen är hjälpsam och rummet rent. Att gå ner till butiker mm tar bra några minuter. Parkering utanför fungerade bra. wifi fungerade ok.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE for the first time of my life i’m doing a negative review Concerning the small troubles No refill shampoo and soap every day, we needed to ask it, no new bath towel everyday it stayed wet, A/C sounds like a truck in a room..... impossible to sleep with it, no one made the upstairs’s bed during my 3 days Concerning the BIG TROUBLE I let them know I stayed more time at tamarindo but not at this place !!! The morning’s check out I had to drop my friend at the airport. The day before I let her know. I wasn’t on time at 11:00, I had less a hour of late When I came back, I saw all my personal stuffs outside close to the hotel’s gate. Everyone could stole my passport, watch, sunglasses and suitcases ... I had no texts and no calls. My holiday could turn into nightmare “She told me you are late .... now check out done ...” No professional and so rude !!!! I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE There are a lot of heaven’s place in tamarindo but definitly not this one

Great stay!

We loved our stay at Villa Nautilus! Friendly people, great room and pool and very close to the beach. I would recommend this place to anyone! Also, we really enjoyed the breakfast each morning. Something different everyday!

TOTAL RIP OFF, No TV, Hard Pillows, Bad AC at $220

Total Rip Off, after driving a steep unpaved road, at $220 per night we got just the wall bracket with no TV, a noisy old AC that doesn’t cool, parking is outside on the street with no security, stiff bed with cheap linnen and a hard pillow with bumps inside, location is not walkble to anything, don’t waist your time and money, this is a total rip off at $220 per night for a bed in someone’s house, we got no sleep at all ;-( Owner refused to offer any compensation, worst hotel experience ever!

Best location for privacy

Just a few minutes to get to the beach. Gated housing so good for privacy and feels very safe. It is technically a bed and breakfast but there was no mention of breakfast upon arrival and I found out later that breakfast was not included. Clarification on that would've been helpful. Overall a good stay.
