Great location, nice clean room. Beautiful breakfast with lots of choices. Old historic building very nicely renovated with all amenities you would need. The staff is super nice and accommodating. Highly recommend the hotel for short or long stay.

Great for city break

Very good hotel for a short city break - great location for concerts at Nalen and right by the underground station (2 stops east tide to old town). 10 mins walk from train station. I used the key code for late entry no problem. Excellent breakfast. Great staff. Small rooms for the price, but that’s Stockholm for you.

The staff was wonderful. The stairs to check in were difficult for me as there was no handrails .there was an elevator but it sounded iffy. The room was clean comfortable. But we could not find directions for the air conditioning. I liked the location. We picked this hotel based on location and price and that it has a breakfast , unfortunately the breakfast was not served til to 7am and we had to go to the airport at; 6.am. No bagged breakfast was given. We asked.

Good option for 1-2 days

We stayed for one night. People were helpful and kind. Our room and beds were small but we were not looking for a luxurious experience anyway. We walk a lot and the location of the hotel was not far away from the places we wanted to visit. However, we did not like the breakfast. Cutlery, knives, plates seemed a bit dirty and the options were very limited. Overall, if you are visiting Stockholm for a short time and looking for a place to stay for 1, 2 days, I think Birka Hotel does the job. But if you are looking for a good breakfast and a more comfortable stay, you can choose somewhere else.

This hotel was small and cosy, with all features. Fine staff. The only inconvience was air conditioning, as it is in almost every hotel. My healthy cant stand cold air from the ventilation valves. Birka Hotel´s receptionist brought an electric warmer to our room and then everything was okay.

Room conditions

I truly wanted to give this hotel a glowing review—there were definitely some high points. The location was absolutely fantastic, and the complimentary breakfast exceeded expectations in both quality and variety. However, the room itself left much to be desired. We were aware at the time of booking that the room did not have a window, and we were prepared for that. What we didn’t anticipate was the complete lack of ventilation. There was no airflow at all, which made the room feel stuffy and uncomfortable. While we were inside during the day, we found ourselves having to prop the door open just to get some circulation. Of course, this wasn’t an option at night, when we needed to close the door for safety and privacy. Unfortunately, that meant sleeping in a poorly ventilated, stagnant room—even though the outdoor temperature was a pleasant 70°F. If you're considering staying here, be sure to double-check whether your room has a window or at least adequate ventilation. It made a big difference in our overall comfort and enjoyment of the stay.
