The shower was amazing, hot towel rail, beautifully looked after and maintained. The grounds are stunning with places to sit and watch the sun set. "The hotel is ideally situated up the hill from St Peter Port. The single room I had was clean and adequately equipped even if a little dated. The restaurant, bar and garden areas were more in keeping with the hotel and were clean, tidy and comfortable. The breakfast was part buffet and part waiter service and I found there was a good choice of cooked breakfasts. I visited on the hottest days in June and the 3rd floor room was incredibly hot as there is no air-conditioning. There were no curtains on the single big window just vertical blinds which didn't keep out much light as they didn't close properly and rattled all through the night as I needed the windows fully open. On asking at reception, I did borrow a fan but it wasn't very effective at cooling down the room. Staff at the hotel were friendly, courteous and helpful. The gardens are delightful! I would definitely stay at this hotel again if returning to Guernsey."
