I had a great time here! The views and back patio area were very inviting and we had dinner at the picnic table overlooking the Surf and Sunset. I would recommend this place to anyone. This is my 3rd time staying here.

Buyer beware.

We thought we booked at certain price per night room but were charged 50% more. We've come to this area 1-3 times a year for the last 25 years and never paid so much for so little. Always we stay on the beach but we have never had such a poor experience. Only good part was the person at the desk was friendly - the $ discrepancy wasn't her fault, and the place is on the beach.

Wedding weekend

Sun Burst recently underwent a renovation. But it is still not done like it was suppose to be. The garage under the penthouse is still full of new and old renovation items, we were suppose to be able to park in there. Another of our rooms #3, has disposable paper curtains on the window (the kind you would get from Home Depot when painting your walls). The penthouse: it has a lot of nice amenities. The first floor (after a flight of stairs) has a washer and dryer, and a nice bathroom. Then a very small bedroom? with a full size bed that is from wall to wall so its hard to get into. Only a desk, no closet, no TV, no mirror, not even a door. Down the short hall is a bigger bedroom with a king size bed, nice dressers, no closet, no mirror, no TV and NO door. So NO privacy from anyone else staying with you. After going up "another" 13 steps to the kitchen/ living room area, its very nice with a full size kitchen with full size appliances, a TV, nice bathroom and a deck with a priceless view of the gulf. (and has a sofa bed) Too many stairs for us, especially when you have to carry all of your luggage and kitchen items up two flights of stairs. The office workers were very nice. Parking not good, only 10 spots for 12 units.

First day we were suppose to check in . It was around 5:30 before they checked us in. They had been doing renovation for like a year. Our room was the only room that was suppose to be done . First no hooks to hang towels , walls were wet because they had just painted. The room was set up like backwards. There was just a few inches between the bed and the kitchen sink to walk through to the bathroom. Second day there I’m making the bed on that side against the wall and something caught my leg. Maybe a bird or some thing and rip my leg open. Cut it pretty bad three days later I ended up having to go to urgent care because it was so infected. Third day I noticed everything underneath the sink was all wet had to get everything of mine out lay it out to dry obvious sink was leaking. I told them a few . One of the staff did check it and the whole plumbing was totally loose. Someone did come in and tighten it up while we were gone.A Long story short , sink was still leaking shower backed up water clear over our feet. We would have to wait 45 minutes between showers for it to go down so each of us could get a shower. We told them it was like two or three days later that they came back in and a plumber came in and fixed it so that was better. Then our toilet started leaking from the bottom was never fixed. The room was damp. The whole time we stayed there or clothes were damp. It was just miserable. I did ask for another room and the Manager told me she couldn’t do that.

I loved this place. It is nothing fancy, but it has everything you could possibly need, including a well-equipped kitchenette even in the small unit I was in. It is family owned, so no corporate lack of authenticity. The Sun Burst Inn has character. And for a place directly on the beach, it is a great value!

We have been going here for the past 6 years . We love the staff , the uniqueness of the place with some renovations but still an old Mom and Pop vibe . The beach is right there of course as well which makes it perfect !

Be careful!

The beach is nice, the place itself a dump.Be careful when booking a room with “street view”!! The view is the least problem, it’s such a busy street that you will not get any sleep at all. Windows are thin as paper and disgustingly dirty When traffic slows down a bit at night live music from the bar across will keep you awake. Service is non existent, but they bombard you with text messages if you start questioning their dishonest room listing, had to block them.

The place was filthy. It does not look like the picture. Our view was out a small dirty window. Looking at sand piled, tables and chairs covered with rat poop. Air conditioning is wall units that are so old and loud, you either didn’t sleep or died of the heat.
