It's in an amazing location and if you are lucky enough to get a front facing room, you have a fantastic view. Satff were all fab and it was a bonus to have a car park. We did feel the breakfast was expensive and there was no real restaurant to have evening dinner. There is a pub down stairs attached to hotel which was very nice.and they did serve pub type meals. We would def stay there again.

Very good location across from the Old Course. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Overall the hotel is very dated, and worn out. It deserves a major renovation to take advantage of its location.
The location of the hotel is very good, also the staff were very nice spoke to the duty manager this morning and explained that the room no 106 was freezing we had to keep our jackets on when in the room so not happy at the price we paid for a really cold room.

Building in need of a make over. Clearly bought for it's location but decor is very dated and needs updated and modernised.
Start with the good points... Hotel in a great position. That's all the good points. Arrived and check in went ok. Went to the room to drop bags off so could explore the area. Came back to the room to discover that we had no lights! So went back down to the r
There was a mix-up when we arrived and we were sent to a room which was not yet ready. The General Manager sought to resolve the issue quickly and effectively and could not have been more accommodating as we waited. The hotel itself was good but the service of the manager made it great.
The hotel is flithy. There are holes in the walls, the carpet needs to be vaccumed, the elevator had garbage on the floor. We were told by the person we think is the manager that the new owners intend to renovate the hotel....lets hope so. We had booked for 2 nights but only stayed 1 due to condition of the hotel.
Run down, skeleton staff, felt like “ghost hotel”
Holes and stains all over walls in bedroom and hallways
Dirty marks on bedding, had to be moved to another room
Manager who was also waiter and general dogs body was very helpful
Receptionist was lovely, friendly and helpful
No staff around at all in evening, felt quite strange and unsafe
This hotel is not fit to be open. State of the rooms was horrendous. Breakfast was a joke. Receptionist and waitress were both lovely. Felt really sorry for the having to listen to everyone complaining.

Very nice front desk person, I've been trying to call the hotel for a week I left my jacket in the roo and no on answers. What number do I call ? Thanks
Everything was excellent until out taxi that was to have been called did not show up. We almost missed our multiple connecting trains...Golf taxi saved the day...and these train tickets were not flexible. I don't know where the breakdown was...ie calling the taxi or the taxi company just not showing up, but in a place like St Andrews with no uber or lift service, efficient reliable taxi service is a no-brainer
This hotel has the potential to be a great location for visitors. Instead it is a run-down (American owned) understaffed dump that sits on one of the worlds prime locations. A shabby, poorly-managed & overpriced disappointment that, frankly, was a shock to visit. I very rarely write reviews on forums such as this but felt compelled to warn visitors to look at every other option to stay in St Andrew’s before choosing this place. The owners, Best Western, tend to ruin everything they touch and The Scores is a shining example of that lazy discarded neglect they have come to perfect. I rarely write in these kind of forums but felt compelled to warn potential guests to St Andrew’s that, until The Scores changes owners and shown some care, this is not the place to stay.
