"Bolongo Bay was nice, safe and simple. The view from our condo was amazing, overlooking the water on the side of a cliff where you could listen to the waves. Gate access private driveway for extra security. There are several restaurants within a 5 minute walk, all of which are on the beach, do not expect to get authentic Caribbean food from these places, just simple meals or a late night snack. You must travel into town or find a food truck or shack for authentic food. Upon arriving into the condo it appeared as it was described, it was resonably clean and the check in process was a breeze an early check in was offered for a $40 fee. There were no hustlers on this beach trying to sell you anything, which was VERY nice. The beach water is rocky in certain spots. The property is definitely going through some updates, this was evident by a few ceiling panels in one of the restrooms missing and being able to see pipes etc. We had a small issue the second day, a large leak I was able to identify in which the host was able to get maintenance out there to fix, however the larger bathroom did not have shower pressure for the first 2 days, and NEVER had hot water during our stay. The master bathroom is rather small and particularly hard to move around in. There was only one TV in the unit, living room. There was WIFI that was very good, however on the last day it appeared to be disrupted due to some construction work in the area. I advise renting a car to explore independently. 3.5/5"
