Timber Frame House overlooking Lake Superior, 20 miles from downtown Duluth

Beautiful timber-framed house with over 3900+ square feet, plus another 1100+ square feet in the guest house. Includes both buildings and 550 feet of private lake shore. It is located at the end of a 3 mile long gravel road. Quiet. Secluded. Private. Come enjoy a beautiful escape on the south shore of Lake Superior. NOW with high speed wifi! Literally 100 times faster than our old DSL (starlink- 253 mbps on July 3, 2024)!

This home was built entirely from locally harvested white pine in 2002. Approximately 100 feet to Lake Superior's sandy shoreline. 10 Queen beds with three custom made bunk beds will be enough to fit your whole family and then some.

Sauna, swimming, camp fires, and star gazing... all to your hearts’ content at this secluded retreat.

2025 family gathering

This setting was very comfortable to house us. We were close to attractions. The best feature was the beach.

It was a great place for our families to be together. The grandkids loved walking down to Lake Superior and walking in the water and gathering rocks. They also loved the lower level with pool table and all the things to play with. It would have been nice if there had been one more shower but we worked it out. Thank you for renting it to us.

Senior Class trip

Exactly as described. Perfect place to enjoy the beautiful scenery. The kids had fun hiking and exploring. Going down to the water, then relaxing in the sauna and hanging out at the bonfire.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Finally we found a rental home that provided ample room for gathering, quiet time and enough beds— no need for making up the couch, but it would have been a comfortable option if needed. The kitchen was well equipped, and everyone could be accommodated for seating during family meals. The game room, and outdoor games and fire pit provided fun for all ages. The home is beautiful, and the setting serene. Certain courageous family members took morning dips in the lake and followed up with a sauna. We all took walks on the beach and to the mouth of the Amnicon River.Noise does carry throughout the main house. Light sleepers may want to bring along ear plugs/noise cancellation gear. Also, be aware that the final 3.5 miles of the road is gravel.

Family Christmas Stay

Our family of 7 adults and 4 littles had the perfect Christmas stay. Tons of room to spread out or all hangout in one space together. Lots to do to stay entertained and busy, with plenty of room to sneak away for a nap or to get a good night's sleep.

New Year's on Superior

This was the perfect location for a large group to relax and welcome in 2025. We enjoyed hiking to the shore, games, and enough space for all of us to gather around the fire. The kitchen was adequate to feed everyone and there were seats enough for all to enjoy meals together. The large TV downstairs was great for a few wanting to watch a football game.

Wedding weekend

Enjoyed our stay. Lots of places outside to sit and enjoy the weather. Wish there was a shower in the upstairs bathroom, but we made it work. Lots of memories made.

AMAZING!

We absolutely loved our stay!! Our family and friends had a blast and couldn't stop talking about what a great place it was. It is a beautiful spot (we loved being that close to the beach!) and there was plenty to do. Kris was an exceptional host and was extremely helpful.

Great girls’ weekend

We enjoyed our long weekend. The place provided us with ample space to spread out. The weather didn’t cooperate for us to have a fire in the fire pit. Nice place.

Nice big house for extended family gathering

Great place for extended family gathering! Basement had pool table and ping pong which was fun got multi generational games. Massive leather couch was great for sitting in front of the fireplace! 2 of bedrooms upstairs had a wall that didn’t go to the top of the ceiling so not private.

Plenty of room for the entire family

Lots of room. Easily hang out together or head somewhere for some space.Beds and bathrooms very clean. Basement had some small items left on the floor from previous guests (beer bottle tops, unsmoked cigarette). Some of the furniture showing wear and tear. Games available but many pieces missing so can't play several of them. Baby gate was missing a bottom part to secure it so that was a bit stressful with a little one running around.Drive into Duluth is reasonable with lots to do there.missing misding so can't play them. Great place for a family get together

We had a large group with all ages and this house worked perfect for everyone. The beach was swimmable and walkable which was a nice surprise- beautiful at sunset. We played wiffleball in the large yard and had outdoor coverage during the rain by using the open garage. The bathrooms are a little outdated but would highly recommend this property!

Spacious, comfortable, entertaining -- all around excellent

As each family arrived, they commented some variation on 'wow, this is nicer than the photos!'We visited for a long weekend with four families (8 adults, 13 children) to ski nearby. There was plenty of space to spread out and lots of room for the children to play - ping pong, darts, board games, snow fort building etc. The sauna was lovely and could fit almost all the adults. Plenty of seating, plenty of blankets and pillows, plenty of beds. Kris was very responsive and helpful. It snowed while we were there, but we were able to make it out of the driveway and gravel road. Overall a top-notch place to stay with a crowd.

We had an early family Christmas at the house. There is lots of room, activities for everyone. The kitchen was well stocked. Communication with the owners was great and helpful. We would definitely recommend staying here

Great property for a vacation with friends.

The house and property worked out great for us and four other couples. The view of the lake along with the cool breeze coming off of it was wonderful especially due to the hotter than normal weather we experienced. There was plenty of room in the backyard for outdoor activities. The house itself was perfect in terms of space and comfort for all of us. Would stay there again if the opportunity arises.

Superior Family Gathering

Experienced "Up North" with our blended family of five adult children, their spouses and our grandchildren. Lots to do inside and out. Lake Superior was closer to the house than I expected so all the better! There's a swimming beach down the road where we saw some spectacular sunsets.

Great Stay
