"Booked a cosy room with a sea view though currently there is scaffolding on one side of the hotel but still ok. Our room was basic and very dated. Bed was comfy enough though and the shower also good. The tv in our room only had bbc channels unfortunately. Room was okay for a one night stay. "

"I booked this hotel for a long weekend break with my family. Due to a genuine emergency, I was unable to check in on the day of arrival. I messaged the hotel through Expedia in advance to explain the situation — they acknowledged my message regarding parking, but completely ignored my notice that I would not be arriving that day. When I arrived the following day, I was told my room had been given to someone else. The hotel had re-listed and re-sold my room without any notification or attempt to contact me. Despite showing up in person, I was refused a refund — meaning they effectively charged me twice for the same room while profiting from a new booking. This is both deeply disappointing and, I believe, unfair practice. Neither Expedia nor the hotel took any responsibility for the situation. I will not be returning to this hotel, and I would strongly caution others to consider how either party handles issues before booking"

"Great location for both centre of Scarborough and also to the dog accessible beach. Rooms were very nice and modern. Rain capes and fan were provided which was excellent. The longe area was very nice too - great hotel fit staying with dog"

"On arrival, my wife and I were enthusiastically greeted by Claire, the owner and manager of the Maynard Hotel. We were given an immediate upgrade to the 'sister' hotel, the Rowntree Lodge, a few yards away. The wonderful and highly delightful Claire showed us to the incredible room! She gave us detailed information regarding the various venues and restaurants, especially after my wife mentioned we were in my childhood haunt of Scarborough for my birthday. (Claire mentioned to me as being in my thirties. She will be receiving a huge cheque in the post, very soon)! The room is excellent! Wonderful carpets throughout and a very comfortable large bed. An extremely wonderful touch was the chocolate mints placed on the towels at the end of the superb bed! There was plenty of coffee and tea to help you settle into your incredible room! The WiFi was tremendous! It was much, much faster than the WiFi at home in Hull! (I was able to upload photographs, each at a huge 47 megapixels, from my Nikon D850 to my mobile telephone, much quicker than at home). The room, overall, was truly excellent! My wife, Rosemary and I, felt very special and privileged to have such a beautiful, comfortable and amazing accommodation! We enjoyed our stay in Scarborough! (Remarkably, there are around 27 restaurants and 11 venues within a couple of minutes walking from the Lodge/Hotel). The nearest beach is approximately 400 yards away, with the city centre and the railway station around 1,500 yards distant."

"the hotel is well situated, The staff very friendly and helpful with a easygoing approach. We ate breakfast which is cooked to order and because i have celiac disease i was able to swap a few items. Had evening meal which was also very good. A Good hotel with clean rooms. would definitely stay again."

"We just loved our stay here. Glamping and so much more. The pod was very large, very clean, very comfortable, and had everything you would need for a first class stay. The internet was blazing fast. The kitchen was good sized, and it even had a large refrigerator and dishwasher. We stayed there 3 nights and wish we had made the reservation for more nights."
