"We had a lovely weekend at the Capercaillie to celebrate my dad's 80th birthday. The house is clean, with lots of room so that 10 people can be accommodated comfortably. A lot of thought and care has been taken to furnish and equip the house, and the hosts are quick to respond to any queries. All this surrounded in beautiful, quiet countryside."

"The property is a beautiful historic home with fun trap doors and hiding places from the original owner's tea smuggling days. It has a wonderful open living and dining area with an expansive view of the town of Eyemouth. We had easy access to restaurants in town (we watched the fresh fish delivered daily), scenic hiking trails and the golf course on the hill behind the house. We also spent a day surfing in Coldingham Bay only a stone's through away. The first floor of the property is often used...

"Absolute perfect stay in this cottage with two adults, three children and a dog. The garden is loveley and so is the cottage and the hosts as well. Would absolutely recoomend!"

"We were a bit unlucky with the weather especially having the dog in such a lovely house but access from the back of the house overcame this. It was very thoughtfully furnished and equipped. On arrival we were very pleasantly surprised with a welcome pack. The views were lovely and it was a very easy walk into Melrose across the bridge from Gattonside - not so easy walking back though. Also an easy drive into Galashiels. Would definitely like to visit again."

"Great location and very modern. I like a traditional feel more than the modern but it had everything one needed. However, there was less than 1 role of toilet paper between both bathrooms combined and no soap or shampoo, napkins, paper towels, dish brushes or clothes wash so come prepared. Also, the garbage outside was filled to overflowing before we arrived and we were unable to clean up our kitchen. Apparently, per the neighbor, this is an ongoing problem. The beds were a little uncomfortable....

"This house is incredible. The check-in, arrival details, and activity details are clear and helpful. The property is large, well maintained, warm, and perfectly situated. We were a group of academics holding a small workshop. There were plenty of spaces for private work, a large table for our workshop, and an excellent kitchen for cooking large meals. We also really enjoyed the games room for evening activities. "
