Pefect location

Loved the view and it was a perfect location for a quick getaway. Size of apartment was great with all the amenities. Would stay again if traveling in the area.

The property is wonderful The view of the river and marine traffic is not to be missed. We tracked the ships and watched all of them we could. It was agood location for the falls and whitefish point. Not to mention the interesting So locks. We especially enjoyed the gas firetable and the bathroom up and down stairs. Great stay!

This is our 3rd (maybe 4th) stay at Riverside Retreat. If you want to view the freighters and/or enjoy the peace of the river, this is the place to do it! Location is perfect for checking out other things to see and do in the area. Very comfortable. Hope to be back in 2026!

Great place for a family vacation

Exceptional place to stay...

We were so pleased with this rental. It is right on the river and you can watch the freighters from your living room window. It was clean, quiet and well stocked. I would stay here again.

Best Place on the River!

This location is perfect for boat watching. The perfect size for a couple people. Great patio to sit in the sun and read or chat. Very cool fire feature for the evenings too!

The River Retreat was a great place to stay in SSM. Enjoyed the ships passing by and the outside seating areas. The host was great and very accommodating. I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful view & relaxing scenery

The view of the river was so nice in the evenings to watch the sunset. There was great star gazing, and we were able to see some meteors as well. The property was well-managed, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Celebration getaway

Beautiful, clean, river getaway. We had a wonderful time tracking the ships and enjoyed watching the variety of birds on the river. The view was amazing and a nice selection of restaurants was a convenient few minutes drive away. Would love to stay there again.

Riverside Retreat

Came up to the Soo for hockey state championship. Not wanting to stay 4 days in a hotel we took a chance on a Vrbo. Riverside Retreat did not disappoint and exceeded our expectations! Comfy, cozy, view was exceptional. Location was perfect and Marc was an attentive host!Great weekend overall!

Third Stay - Never Disappoints

This is our third year staying at this property and it was just as incredible as prior years. The home is always clean and provides great amenities including a fire pit and the kayaks (our favorite part). Marc has always been a wonderful host, quick to respond to any questions.

Clean with a great view

In town for a highschool event at the college. Waaay better than any hotel and well worth the extra 5 to 10 minutes to get into town. Very peaceful.
