"Johannes was a wonderful host. We enjoyed our conversations with him when we arrived and when we departed. He was very friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. He gave good recommendations for restaurants that we could walk to and what to do in the area. The neighborhood was quaint and peaceful. Our room was inviting, so clean, cheery, cozy, and comfortable. If in the area again we would stay at Johannes’ place."

"The location is great, walked from my room into the airport"

"This hotel was really dirty. The lobby looked nice and we were greeted by nice staff, but when we got to our room it felt anything but like home. There was hair on the bed and pillows, including inside the sheets. There was rice caked onto the chair, the bed cover with the logo looked really ratty and had something also caked onto it. There were crumbs everywhere and the grout in the bathroom looked atrocious. We were disgusted and went back to the front desk to see if they could reclean— unfortunately, the housekeeping had gone home, so we were given a new room and didn’t know if it would be worse or better. When we got to the new room, it was thankfully slightly better and not worse— there were still some crumbs and hairs but not as many, and one of the sinks in the bathroom did not work. It was plugged and after unplugging it, water started dripping out the bottom onto my wife’s feet. We then only used the other working sink. Overall we survived our stay but would never go back."

"I had a fall in Amsterdam. Fred and Eva took me to First Aid at the airport. They had all my personal belongings moved to a handicapped room. When I returned from ER my room was ready. They did so much for me. The hotel itself is beautiful with many amenities. I cannot praise them enough. Thanks to Eva Fred Hub and Pelion."

"Very clean and affordable hotel, especially for a short layover. Overall, the stay was pleasant, but I did have one disappointing experience upon arrival. After a flight from Toronto, I arrived at the hotel around 1:45 p.m. feeling exhausted and hoping to rest for a bit before exploring the city. I was the only guest at the front desk and asked whether an early check-in might be possible. The staff member checked my reservation and advised that early check-in was not available for my booking type. He did kindly offer to store my luggage and suggested I spend some time in town. Since I was extremely tired, I sat on one of the lobby couches and ended up falling asleep. About 30 minutes later, another staff member woke me and advised that sleeping in the lobby was not permitted. I recognize this is a relatively minor issue in the grand scheme of things, and I understand that hotels have policies regarding check-in times. However, it was difficult not to feel disappointed, particularly since the front desk had already looked up my room and it appeared there may have been availability. As a guest, it left me with the impression that booking through a third-party site such as Expedia may have limited the flexibility the hotel was willing to offer. That said, the property itself was clean, comfortable, and offered excellent value for the price."
